Don't understand the Brewer love. He has no offensive game. If people want to shake things up and put a wing in there who will try on defense, why not Garcia? Not saying Brewer doesn't deserve a place on roster. He gives us more fouls when we face really strong offensive wings, but he should not be in the starting lineup.
slide Parsons to PF and put Garcia or Brewer SF Garcia/Brewer cover opponent better offensive player Harden just guard the spot up shooter
stick to what worked last year just change asik to howard. simple and safe solution. yet we got a genius want some "experiment".
One of the most disappointing things this season so far is, that neither of our 2 young PFs have grabbed the spot, not even as a backup. Before the off season it seemed to be clear, that at least one of them will see major minutes at PF, now they are both out of the rotation. They need to wake up and realize, what a great opportunity they have. If they can`t get it done this year, chances are they won`t get another shot. Play with control, within yourself, defend well, grab some rebound, make few mistakes and hit your open shots, that`s all we need. I can`t believe neither TJones nor DMO is grabbing this spot. So right now our best starting 5 seems to be: Lin or Bev (Lin is the better player, but I like him as our 6th man) Harden Parsons (he was struggling, but he is a glue guy. I like Garcia of the bench) Casspi Howard
McHale need wake up and realize what makes last year's offense lethal. It was the spreading the floor w/ 4 players that can shoot from outside behind a SINGLE CENTER, NOT TWO!! We're not playing the San Antonio offense here....we're playing the Rockets' offense. Now, i think if we play a team like the Grizzlies, it might be okay to play both Center. Those are the only times we do that but it's only rare.
Bev Harden Parsons DMo Howard I like Casspi off the bench as a spark. For all of DMo's flaws, he usually makes the right passes and unlike TJones he's not a ballstopper. DMo should still get minutes with the bench though cause I like his chemistry with Lin (remember the Nets game after the trade deadline last season?). Aside from the benching, I agree with the rest of the post. Parsons was prone to tunnel vision last season, but it seems he's trying so hard to prove himself this season that he ends up hogging the ball. We already don't have enough ball movement with Dwight and Harden in the starting unit. Not to mention his defense, already overrated, has fallen off. He, like a lot of our other players, tends to watch the ball instead of his man, and he also likes to leave his man on the perimeter to clog the paint. Basically Chandler needs to start playing better if he ever wants to be considered the 3rd star on this team. There's no way McHale is going to bench him, but if he continues playing like an idiot then I'd like to see Casspi or Garcia get more minutes.
Going off of what I have seen so far this needs to be the 9 man rotation. Howard/Asik Parsons/Casspi Garcia/Parsons Harden/Lin Lin/Bev/Brooks We need to commit to playing small because we can field a dominant center for 48 minutes. Both guys being able to play all out and not worry about fouls or fatigue because of the other. Looking at that grouping other than the centers, we need to either get a true power forward or another impact perimeter player to really contend. Brooks needs to be in the rotation for his long range ability. Would love to add a better 2 way player
I agree with this. Last year we lacked the defensive low post when Asik sat down. Since now we have Howard, this should eliminate this by acquiring Howard. Perhaps were experimenting too much instead of going back to what was working and just changing our weaknesses. Also I liked Greg Smith against clippers last game, perhaps also give him some minutes with the 2nd unit.
As long as TT are in the starting lineup, meh. But I wouldn't mind seeing this 2nd unit for a good 5-6min stretch for at least 2 quarters! Lin - 1 Garcia - 2 Casspi - 3 Jones - 4 Smith - 5 Come on McHale, play a 10-man rotation!
