clips was a bad game, but that team was on fire that night. lakers was an ugly game, but even with a big lead in the first half the rockets made them struggle for the win up to the very last second. I dunno. Still very early and this is a solid team.
Sure, they all have flaws, but the flaws are gigantic. The impact of not playing defense and missing FTs is so critical. Other team gets 2 or 3 points on their possession because of Harden, and we get 0 points because of the H-a-H strategy. That is essentially a +4 or +5 for the other team.
The thing about losing the "winnable" games to WC teams is a potential tie breaker scenario at the end of the regular season. I'd hate to look back and think, man if we had only won "that" game!

I expected more struggles early on in the season especially considering those simply horrible stretches of preseason play. I fully expect to lose some more of these types of games early on, but I also expect us to get to a point where we actually have a tangible sense of where we could potentially be in terms of a ceiling. Listen, most people here you claimed WCF or bust are simply overachieving to what we have. It will take some time to everything to fully simmer down and we play up to our standards. If you thought we would walk into this season and just plow over teams, it was just wrong from a mile away. We have to expect growing pains and in return we will learn and adapt to future situations and then we will be golden.
I am feeling super prescient. Dwight messed up the first game by missing FTs. Harden can't do anything in two games.
