I'm disappointed at Howard not able to make critical FT at the end of the game
Should Howard be sitting out till the 2 min mark if the Hack the Howard strategy is used by other teams in a tight game?

Yes if he is going to be giggling and running away like a b**** while missing free throws.

It's unwatchable when this happens. McHale better start doing something about it to counter it...which I guess means remove Howard from the game like was said. Otherwise, McHale is tying our chances to win the game to Howard's free throw shooting percentage. That's not good.

Fans are going to resent the hell out of Howard if this continues...because the grumblings have already started and will only continue as long as this tactic hurts us. Lakers fans know exactly what we are going through.

The bigger question becomes how does a Howard-led team ever win a championship when this tactic comes out meaning either you can't keep him in the game at the crucial time of the game or you take your chances with his free throw shooting?

It's bad for Rockets basketball any way you dice it.

I'm not sure if we really upgraded our Center position with DH. Maybe we should have just signed a PF instead.

That's what I kept saying all summer long - Dwight is a small upgrade on offense over Omer, otherwise it's the same.

That was hard to watch. Man up. You know they are going to foul you. He then went on to miss those two free throws.

He's actually a pretty significant upgrade, but it's perfectly reasonable to think there were bigger jumps to make.

The reality is that the best player was Chris Paul and he wasn't really interested in leaving the Clippers. The next best player was Dwight.

    Dwight+Omer (and his trade value)

    Or

    Omer+Paul Milsap

    Take your pick I guess.

Definitely not a small upgrade. Omer sucked at free throws last game too.

Offensively Dwight is on another stratosphere, not even close.

He keeps saying every year he's constatnly working hard on his FT shooting for every game.

9 years in the league already.

Don't see how him "constantly working on it" will vastly improve now.

We will not win a championship unless Howard makes his FT's better.

Howard and Turkey boy should not be allowed to leave practice until they make 200 ft every day at the end of practice.
Our play off seeding depends on it.
If we are leading the league in ft attempts we should take advantage......

Phil Jackson used to take Shaq out at the end of games because of Hack a Shaq

Bottomline, Dwight wasn't doing much of anything on either side of the floor. Why was he still in?

Well, he did have that fantastic block on a layup that would have tied the game with about a minute or less left. Obviously we still lost, but defensive plays like that are why he's in.
