Quite a nice read spanning from his departure to how much he loves it with the Rockets all the way to raves from peeps that work with him as opposed to the media villifying him.

Thanks for posting.. It was a pleasant read. It's crazy the backlash dwight continues to face for leaving LA. He's basically become a scapegoat for all of the lakers failures, and i wonder if lebron and/or carmelo will face the same scrutiny if they choose not to sign with LA next offseason. Probably not because dwight is an easy target, but i have a great time watching him play and could not be more grateful that he came to houston. Not many elite level athletes choose to sign with houston, much less take less money to come here, but dwight put his $ where his mouth is and decided to chase the ring(s).

Hopefully he stops getting boo'd in random cities because he's clearly not a bad dude. Just so many idiots out there that watch PTI and those other espn day time shows that fill the airwaves with anti dwight drivel.

    It will blow over...... Eventually.

One of my favourite quotes from Dwight on his decision to come here.

Dwight deserved criticism for his handling of the situation in Orlando, but leaving LA he did it in the most professional way possible.

Some people are just blind to the state of the Lakers. Kobe is an alpha dog who isn't ready to let any other star come in and be the first option. It's part of what made him a great player, but it's also what is likely to keep the Lakers from being contenders in the near future. That, and Dr Buss passing away and his children running the team. The media acts like the Lakers don't have a new owner now, just because it is the same family running things.

It is true he could have had an extra $30 mil if he stayed in LA?

I would love a blowout tonight, just to watch her suffer through the commentary about it tomorrow.

Validation for the moves Morey made. There was no guarantee, but Morey put the team in a good situation to take advantage, first to get Harden, which lead to Howard.

I don't know the exact amount, but it was kind of deceiving because part of the reason he could make so much more guaranteed is because he could sign for an extra year. Barring injury he will make that money up when he signs his next contract. Then consider lower cost of living and no state income tax and the money wasn't as huge as it sounds as long as Dwight is still a star player in 3 years.

On the flip side it does show that if Morey had brought Dwight here against his will in a trade with Orlando, there is no guarantee that he would have stuck around just because we could offer him more money.
