This has been bothering me for a while: What if both Shandon and Maurice fail to produce enough to ask for decent contracts, and both bolt (freeing up even more caproom)? And at the same time Hakeem wants another year? Hakeem has been producing - not necessarily in pts, but with steals, rebs, other defense that doesn't show up... And helping to keep the younguns honest (maybe most important). Could we really say no? Seeing as he's helped us in just about every W so far... The real question is: do we go after the likes of CWebb and cut Dream loose, or do we resign Hakeem to a 1-year deal (if he asks to play again, of course)? Thoughts? ------------------
If Hakeem can give us quality 15-20 minutes per games next year, I say sign him. The very fact that he is just a body in the middle makes us better than most teams. Now, on the cap room question - I say renounce his rights and then sign him after we sign CWebb ------------------
