    Just traded a first gen ipad in and got a Ipad mini for the kids for a hundred bucks. Also got a 25 dollar gift card out of it. Great deal.

    You got $200 for first gen iPad? I thought it was up to $200 for iPads, meaning first gen iPads would get less?

    No, they have a special deal right now where it's a minimum of 200, even if it's the old original.

    The airs are running 479 but they were out of stock. I didn't even need to bring the charger. As long as it boots and is not cracked they give you 200 bucks credit. Deal ends this Saturday.

    Traded mine in today. Got an iPad mini for $299 with another $25 gc back. Paid with my Redcard for another 5% off.

    Ended up paying about $90 for an iPad mini, two generations better than the original iPad.

    I still use my 1 for watching netflix and reading, but the OS is not going to ever upgrade - use my 2 for email.

    Would it be worth it to get a Mini?

    The mini is better for reading. Better form factor and half the weight.

    Not really. The Mini has essentially identical internals to the iPad 2. You're really looking at, essentially, the following generation.

    Is the additional $25 gift card available for every new iPad purchase?

    I will definitely be trading in my iPad 1 but I can't decide between the Air or the new iPad Mini Retina.

    The new ipads are in short supply at Target. Neither of them were in stock at the two Targets I went to.

    You're not going to get more trade in credit for your ipad 2. I would find someone with a first gen and trade with them, and then trade that in. BTW, this deal ends Saturday.

    I don't believe so. There was nothing said about it being waterproof when it was announced, nor is there any other info I'm finding about it.

    I love the mini so far. Much faster than the 1, SUPER lightweight.

    Actually, the $25 GC was the low end. They were giving out up to $40 for newer models.
