Asik + Beverley + Dmo or Tjones salaries work out for LMA!!!

Portland gets two younger players.. A top 5 center and a enegertic young defensive PG. Dmo and Tjones suck :)

Ahh... there it is. I guess anyone getting excited about this needs to go back and re-listen to this podcast.

I guess my main question here is having the connection now with Dwight, and his power brokers/agent, could there be any pull around the league to make this deal happen outside of just Morey and Oshley's conversations.

Obviously, Oshley and Paul Allen don't have to do anything they dont want to, and Dwights agent doesn't represent Aldridge but could this be something the powers behind the scenes fight to make happen?

I see a three-way trade involving Asik and Lin.

Another baseless rumor by someone who should know better. Let us see. The Blazers are set at center and have one of the best young point guards in the league. Oh I get it. You want to trade Harden for LMA. Brilliant!

Even if the Twin Towers are working, give me LaMarcus Aldridge 10 times out of 10 over Omer. He would have helped tremendously last night when Harden was high and Dwight was in foul trouble.

not sure if that works, where are the numbers? here are LMAs

    2013-2014 $14,128,000
    2014-2015 $15,256,000

rockets really spent alot of money on howard $22,000,000 wish he was down to take a lil less to make things work like the heats big 3 did to get a ring.

Why is asik a "top 5" center?

He can't even catch the ball!

I can see the Rox wanted Aldridge but would be Blazers be willing to deal? I doubt it.

The only way it would happen is if Aldridge pushes the team for the trade.

You'd have to ascertain first that Dwight is not going to make a drama out of it, because he'll get less touches.

Then you have to wonder who Portland is willing to trade him for.
    Asik? They've got Lopez.
Lin? They've got a balldominant PG who can pass & score.
Parsons? They've got their athletic, do it all wing in Batum.

So you'd have to get a third team involved, I guess.

i think lin would take less to stay in houston after his contract is over to chase a ring around 5-6mill and that is good for a solid PG that will only get better

Maybe, but would you be surprised if Morey and co. started working the phones a little more aggressive this morning, and folks around NBA circles caught wind and started talking about how Morey is gunning for LMA???

Not that hard to believe if you look at it that way. Either way I find it interesting to know that Morey is still pounding the phones if that's the case.... regardless of this particular deal. A more accurate report would probably be "Rumor is Morey is working the phones the past few days with LMA in mind as top target, but sources say deal is not likely".

Also yes, from previous years Cyberx is a well regarded insider here. Maybe its just a rumor that wont go anywhere, but its never been know to be baseless with him.

That energetic young defensive PG is our starting pg, who could become the best defensive PG in the NBA and a legit 3pt shooter this season. You don't give up that and a top center for someone who may leave in 2 years, especially when Bev only makes like a million a year. He is where Parsons was a year ago. Too big of a bargain to trade, unless we're locking up a star for a while.

Only two words that matter in the thread title.

So are you suggesting they are a good SG away from being a contender? :)
