Everytime CP had the ball w/Lin in front; he always gets moving picks or screens. Not a single pick for Jeremy apart from the one by Greg Smith late in the game.

I scratch my head and wonder does Mchale understand the significance of the PnR esp. for your PG

I think he wants to establish the postup game first so he wants the bigs to be under the hoop straight away before anything. The problem is either the post entery feeds to Dwight are to wide or low or he just turns it over as soon as he makes a move as he dosent have great footwork.

It's so puzzling, but I've given up on wondering why the Rockets don't do this for Lin. The ironic thing is I've seen Lin motioned for picks & screens to be set up for the ball handler when he himself is not handling the ball and is just hanging out on the perimeter. Granted, that was with the 2nd unit so that might be a factor.

Wonder if Rockets look at other team's films. Spurs would be another good team to watch and learn, the way they set up picks for Tony Parker, the patience and discipline in the execution of the offense, I love watching them for the mechanism alone.

Agree. Actually one can not miss the fact that DH is very predictable if he is double teamed. So his move make the whole team stagnant on ball movement, his need for space also makes the rebound difficult for his teammate. The low postup strategy is really for him a nightmare 4 the team when you get the best PnR player in the league. Just adding some Ally-ups or good PnR will disrupt Clipper's defense and their rhythm, providing much more needed variety of offensive tools for the team. Rox needs that kind if play to boost the spirit. However I only see the opposite team doing it. BTW, giving up the mid-range is also a stupid idea as you have practically 2 centers who can grab the rebound. I suppose Carsspi and Lin both can be lethal @ mid-range.

The problem also is as soon as Dwight gets the ball, he holds the ball too long which gives the defense time to rotate a double or it forces Howard make an move that he isn't good at. He needs to attack the defense as son as he gets it because he is impossible to defend when he uses his speed.

Is Howard saying coaches didn't prepare the team enough?

So true. Last year we only have one player doing iso balls. Now we also have D12 wanting post up hero ball which is just like iso balls. These stagnates the offense more and prevent ball movement. D12 is not that great yet on post up moves. So we are having difficult time when JH's iso balls not falling and DH's post up not effective. We need to go back to team ball or else we will not be a contending team.

I actually thought there were shots where he played more in control and not rushing it. Those led to foul calls.

But I agree that so far his best shots have been when he was on the move and then gets the ball. Refs are letting guys mug him under the basket. And he can't rely on touch.

I'd like him to foul out players though.

Actually the cold shooting night turned out to be 50% FG, 28% 3point and 67% FT

    Clippers: 52%FG, 40%3pts and 86% FT

3 pointers and Freethrows cost us, Turn overs cost us and better execution with a lot of easy buckets

Coaches should take a page from the way the Clips got their shooters open. Run them around screens.

Problem is Clips were using moving screens while our bigs kept being called for fouls.

Anyway worth a try so that even with the TT, we can get shots. Last year we were even calling for screens between Harden and Lin. At this stage, we're still relying solely on transition and dribble-drive.

When it doesn't work, what's our adjustment?

Maybe we are still focusing on defense and not working out the offensive kinks yet.

The coaching is a huge part of why this team isn't reaching it's potential.

200 pages-long thread of LOF vs LOH, Spiegel and Co trolling gleefully, McSuccess drawing ISOs out of time outs....and this season has now truly begun!

I really want to pin that on McSuccess not knowing what he is doing hence the constant experiments, but there seem to be another more troubling reason for that. Asik is useless in the PNR as he can't catch to save his life and more importantly I don't think that the traditional big man role of setting screens in the PNR is palatable to Howard who has other aspirations in the post.

Let this be a lesson to McHale: Just because Howard says he likes you doesn't mean your job is secured and you can **** around and indulge your stupidity and test Morey's patience. When Howard says he likes you? That is when you really need to be on your toes. Howard can turn on you at the drop of a hat.

Lin would not average anything close to CP3. One is a young upstart trying to be a solid starter the other is a superstar. Jeez. Let it go.
And report whichever idiot wished harm on Bev and stop blaming a legion of crazy LOFs when it's more likely just one or two idiots, if any AT ALL. Who would wish harm on one of our own players.

It only takes one game to expose serious flaws in a team and/or its coach.
