The bottom line is with each close win these young Indy players get on us...they get emboldened and trot out on our field knowing that they can win... Luck wasnt good, but he was good enough. This goes to the adage that good teams find ways to win football games...and bad teams dont. If the Texans offense wasnt gonna score points, it was essential that the defense played with a sense of desperation and urgency...instead, JJo got embrassed by TY again...Kareem gives yet another huge PI...Terrible effort by the Linebackers and atrocious special teams play.... Our city should be happy that we actually have the makings of a stud under center, but seriously...this was supposed to be a win...and yet we managed to lose...like a losing team would do. THIS TEAM NEEDS A TOTAL CLEANSE...
You're out of your ******* mind if you think this defense - with no Cushing and no manning - cost us this game. Bullock cost us this game. Period. Stop looking for other scapegoats.
The Colts D suckered us into some play calls. Mathis running down the line. Collinsworth points out that that's when you bootleg. Texans do exactly that and the Colts are there waiting for it. Pretty sure they troll'd us into doing that and we fell for it hook, line, and sinker.
Everyone else wants to blame what they think is more "controllable". I get it by now that I'm in the minority with my views, but there were three pivotal calls in the second half, and every one of them went for Indy. Sad thing is, I had a bad feeling in the pit of my stomach after the Braman/Martin close calls... with all the b****ing on behalf of Indy that NBC was doing, that they'd actively try to "even it out" late. And did they ever. Good thing for y'all is that this is it for me b****ing for a while. I may do some about the Rockets, but I literally am at my rope's end with the NFL after the way they treated me after the KC game-time fiasco. **** Roger's empire... better things in sports to focus on.
Yep, I remember that now. It seems whenever the other team has a tragedy they "Rally" around it and when it happens for us it seems to work against us. The players don't think "We better win this game for coach." Or maybe they just suck and can't help it any ways.
Dude it happened in the middle of the game. I thought coach was on his death bed. It had to be on the players minds.
We got Randy in part because of his "big" leg and ability to kick the ball out of the endzone on kickoffs. But he made exactly ONE kick longer than 50 yards in college (from 52). He did make one from 55 in the preseason, but he's never done it in a game that mattered. After missing 2 easier kicks, he wasn't going to set a career high (going back to college) in the final seconds of a game.
No need for the language, have another beer. THE DEFENSE COST THE TEXANS THE GAME! Secondary is the worst in the league.
Lol okay. Bullock left 6 points on the board, how many did the defense give up? You do realize if they make ONE more stop we win this game right? Same for the Seattle and KC game. This defense has choked some key games away. Up by 5 a great defense gets it the F done. You ask Ray Lewis or ANY great defender. I remember one time Ray said just get us 15 points and we'll win the game. Defense lost this game more than anything else...and they give up A LOT of points. Forget the yards stats those are useless...they give up a TON of points.
yeah of course it was on their minds, but it seems that other teams rally with emotion and fire. Texans don't seem to rally in the same way other teams do when a loved one goes down (Bum, Kubiak). that's all he's saying.
in the red zone our team is just giving up TDs as opposed to FGs...our red zone coverage is the worst in the NFL...
I've seen this team play only one half of football too often to believe that Kubiak's collapse is the sole reason for our uninspired play in the 2nd half.
Home from the game. Unbelievably upsetting. Add Martin and Bullock to the list of guys that should be off the team before March. Two of those whistles absolutely were (a) ridiculously indefensible and (b) the margin of the game. That said, you have to be fair and say: The pass rush in the second half was AWOL The secondary in the second half was torched Bullock by himself left 9 points on the board The team made a 8-year old playing Madden idiotic decision not kicking a FG on 4th-1 on their second possession Turn off the lights on this season - it's officially over at this point.
And the team probably recieved the same, if not better, information than we did...that Kubiak was alert and responsive and taken to the hospital for precautionary measures. Hardly on his deathbed. No doubt it was on their minds, but these are professional athetes who are constantly having to block a myriad of distractions our of their minds everytime they step on the field. Plus it was Wade's job to help keep them focused after something like that.
I wouldn't say we got him for his "big" leg, -- you're right that he was never a boomer -- but he was EXTREMELY accurate from 40-to-49. My theory is that after his groin injury and kicking too shallow on kickoffs in the 2012 summer, he did some work to change his mechanics and kick with more power... and somehow it compromised his accuracy. Because you're right, his asset in college was never his distance. It was extreme accuracy, especially from 40-to-49... he was one of the most impressive college kickers I've ever seen, in that context. Whatever is happening now is uncharacteristic and bizarre, but I agree with most that it's mental and it's time to cut bait. Time to move on and show that accountability still exists.
