In his Clippers career he has a 2nd round exit and a 1st round exit, both times losing against the better team. I don't see how this translates to nothing. Doc has CP3 attacking a lot more and so far this year CP3 is leading the league in PPG(27.7), APG(12.0) and PER(37.51). So to say he's "nothing" is incredibly dumb and ignorant.

If you think Lin is going to check an aggressive CP3 you're in for a long night.

The Clippers are going to be the best offense in the NBA this year (already are so far). To imply that they are going to be shutdown by ANYBODY is pretty bold. If the Rockets pack the paint on Blake and DJ.... CP3, Redick, Crawford, Dudley, Collison, Bullock, Barnes.. our shooters are going to explode. The Clippers are one of maybe 3 teams that can get into a shootout with Houston and WIN. Do you not remember that our 46 point first quarter last year came against the Rockets?

They're not a good matchup for us. They feed off turnovers and we're amongst the worst in the a League in that respect.

Not saying we will win or lose, too many variables this early in the season... but don't get cocky please. Warriors fans were also saying they were going to beat us by 20... and they got demolished.

Yup. Rockets are incredibly bad with turnovers last year and so far this year. Like you said turnovers+steals leading to fastbreaks is a key to the game.

Key to win slow down Griffin. Omer and Dwight can make things difficult for him on both ends of the floor.
Dwight needs to attack the basket more often.
It will be hard to slow Harden down.
A close win for us is my prediction, provided if we don't have to catch up.

No offense, but I'm a little confused as to why you're here on a Rockets board? Are you a Clips fan in Houston?

Dwight+Asik is beastly on D and the boards but how the hell will they make it hard for us on offense lol?

Bev. is a very tenacious defender, but posters around here talk about his defense as if it is the stuff of legend - it has become very Paul Bunyan-esque. I mean before he was injured in the Bobcat's game, Kemba was having his way with him. "Bev's defense" has apparantly become some sort of un-worldly thing that will ensure our wins or it's referred to as some kind of cure-all. What's next? You're having trouble sleeping? You just need Bev's defense. Republicans and Democrats can agree on anything in Congress - Bev's defense will solve that. Global warming? No problem, the atmosphere just needs Bev's defense.

The Clippers defense still sucks, they need a solid wing defender like a Metta World Peace and a defensive anchor like an Omer Asik

I think team defense>individual defenders. I don't think by the end of the year the Clippers D will be worse than 10th best (last year they were 9th). It's just going to take time to gel in the new system. I also feel we will make a trade for a quality backup center.. maybe even trading Jamal Crawford for it.

BTW Redick has been a pretty outstanding defender so far as has CP3. Our defensive woes are almost entirely the bench and the fact that guys we played good D on like Curry/Isiah Thomas/Cousins still torched us with tough shot after tough shot.

    Maybe...

But so far the Rockets are guarding the perimeter pretty well...

20-24 ft teams are shooting 23%, 15-19 ft it is 29%...It's not safe to assume they will just go off if the Rockets pack the paint, with Dwight and Asik the Rockets always have a elite paint defender.

Rockets have won some ugly games, it is their offense that has been the problem. They don't need to get into a shootout...they can drag it down to a snails pace and win now if the first 3 games mean anything.

Lets talk about the opponents you have played? Bobcats, Mavs and Jazz. Not a single good team, we need more sample. That's why Monday will be a good test for you guys.
