Yes I would love to see one of the "Yao-voters" have the balls to explain their reasoning to the board. How the hell Yao was disappointing is beyond me.

I voted for SF. Yeah he puts up numbers, just like he has every year he's been in the league. But he still doesn't play d. He still doesn't push the ball up the court. He still dribbles too much. He still hasn't learned how to get his teamates involved. And for all that talk about him becoming a leader, its just same old, same old. He did get those atrocious tos under control in the 2nd half of the season tho, I'll give him that.

I don't understand the Griff voting either. I didn't expect him to be a stud this year, just a solid rotation player. I was more dissappointed in the staff to annoint him as the starter.

I heard there are so-called 'Yao-only fans' who would vote Yao to win every single poll no matter what...:D

We have gone downhill since we traded K Thomas to make room for Eddie Griffin, who must be a bust for this sole reason.

How could anyone vote for Yao or Nachbar? Yao lived up to and surpassed my highest expectations. He was starting center on the Western All-Star team and a hopefull for the ROY award.

The only way that Boki should be voted for this is if his poor play in practice determined the amount of minutes (or lack there of)that he recieved this season. I find that assumption inaccurate b/c I remember Rudy telling the media that he was pleased with his progress, and that he wanted to bring him along a little more slowly, knowing that we already have 3 other capable small forwards in the mix, and that he is pretty much our project for the 2003-2004 season (since our pick likely goes to Memphis). I just think injuries and Rudy's pecking order played more of a hand in how little Bostjan played. I feel that Rudy was trying to keep the team chemistry positive by not starting a European rookie over players like Posey, Rice, and Morris who have either earned their spots in the rotation through their play or their experience in the league. No matter how you view it, Nachbar can't be looked upon negatively if he never really had a chance to show us if he could play or not.

I voted for Griffin. 20 years old or not, I expected at least a little improvement and a glimpse of his superstar potential in his second full year. I'm allowing him mistakes and other flaws that go with an underdeveloped body and immaturity, but I at least was hoping that he would build on some moderate rookie progress, add a few facets to his game, become more cerebral on the court, show some intensity, and just show me something that makes me believe he was worth 3 first rounders. I didn't see any of that and right now, after a disappointing season and off the court problems, I'm skeptical whether or not he can ever become an effective power forward and team player in this league. With 2 full seasons under his belt, including one as a starter I expect growing pains but I also expected flashes of brilliance and the ability to learn and get just a little better after each game experience but he just never seemed to put it all together.

Jason Collier was a disappointment from the moment we drafted him. It kind of goes without saying that he has been and is still a scrub. Do you believe we traded Joel Przbilla the #15 pick overall for this guy? Neither player has been effective, but it's sad to think that either that draft was so bad that year that Collier was the most talented player left on the board, or that Rocket management is just plain idiotic and has no scouting skill whatsoever. As evidenced by Yao, and Mobley, the Rox aren't stupid. However, the jury is still in deliberation on Griffin (at most for one more season) and case is closed on Collier, so that question remains to be answered.

plz tell me i'm not the only one who absolutely busted out reading that. seems like a good entry for that site in that hangout thread.

i voted for moochie simply because he is so bad it's unfathomable. it really is. i mean he was so completely and utterly horrible in every phase it was mindboggling. he makes steve look like he belongs on the all-nba defensive team. he dribbles out the clock. he'll pass up the wide open jumper to do his little pump fake and then drive into trouble. he bricked free throws all year long (even costing us the first clippers game b/c of it). seriously, like someone else said, give us the 3 or 4 points having even a barely competent backup would've gotten us and maybe we win 5 more games. or just give us someone who doesn't make it necessary for steve and cuttino to play 40+ every night b/c we have no one else.

and omg, do my eyes deceive me? cuttino actually has as few votes as yao in a sucky player poll? that needs to be framed for posterity or something. you'll never see that again.

I think Eddie Griffin was so dissapointing because the expectations were so high.

As for Moochie, he just played bad. I thought he'd be much better after starting around 50 games last season, but he was worse for whatever reason.

It's too bad he can't be unloaded. Hopefully, he will go into the offseason and make himself SUPER FIT while working on his major weaknesses. maybe he'll be serviceable next season.

Sane, that's impossible. The offseason is only 4 months long...or in the Rockets' case, 5 and 1/2 months long. Still not enough time.:D

I know what you mean, but if he can put himself in great physical shape like KT did, that would be enough. If he still was able to work on his shot, that would be great too.

    I'm looking for ANY improvement.
