Harden and Jlin would need to play extended minutes if we were to win. Start Omri Casspi at four to guard Dirk. There is no way Howard can guard him. Asik and Garcia should anchor our secondary well. We need to offset Harden and Jlin so that atleast one of them is always at the floor. We need play making of those two...

    Parsons on Dirk
    Howard on Marion
    Asik on Dalembert
    PG on Ellis
    Harden on Calderon

Think that should be the matchups on the court tonight, starter wise.

Or... maybe not since it's not a Mavs home game?

Of course Howard can guard him and I even find it a little strange to say "let Casspi guard X because Howard can`t" - so the 3 time defensive player of the year can`t guard a 7 footer but Casspi, a mediocre defender at best, can?

The problem with Howard guarding Dirk isn`t Howards ability, it is his instincts. He wants to be in the paint to block shots and get rebounds. But if we want to make the twin towers work, we need Howard to think a little different for 10-15 minutes a game. Howard is definetly quick, athletic and big enough to guard Dirk or basically any other PF in this game.

So, put Howard on Dirk and see how it goes.

You are right - LOFs who makes everything about one player and bash the coach, other players and posters are idots - as well as peolpe who bash Lin because of his fans. Man, this place was a lot nicer before the Lin signing...

The biggest xfactor is, can Asik punish his opponent in the paint. The answer is no. He has those ****ing buttery hands that make me go cray cray.

    Exactly

Couldn't have said it better myself. Making sound like Dirk walks on water, he is a great shooter but we have Dwight Howard 3 time 3 time 3 time defensive player of the year....I think he can challenge his shots and there is always Asik in the paint in case blondie is feeling frisky.

Dude, have you not seen the last game? McRoberts had a field day shooting threes. Also, what good is Howard protecting the outside shots? He's suppose to protect the paint. Twin tower does not work against spread four.

McHale should give some minutes to Brewer this game. We need his perimeter defense.

Guarding paint vs guarding outside is requires two different skills sets. Howard is physically gifted, I get it. But if you truly think Howard can guard Dirk outside, then you are truly smoking crack. Furthermore, why are we putting our best post defender outside to guard threes? All because we have to have Twin Tower at all times? That's baloney. Play your best player's best strength. Howard is best at post. So keep him there. We have other players that can do same or better job of protecting outside.
