Not surprising for most of these guys. Rarely do guys who are not elite players or at least potential elite players receive extension.

Given the restricted free agency rules, teams have the incentive to just wait til next summer rather than take the risk early-- the exception being where the guy is one that you 100% want to keep even at a max price (Yao, Harden with Houston, Lebron, Paul George, etc.) or ones who agree to take a little discount on their projected market price in exchange for security (what guys like Favors, Sanders, Curry did in recent seasons).

When there is a gap between the offers by each side, both sides can decide to just wait.

Sucks for the Suns. Bledsoe is gonna get a huge deal I would imagine.

They can afford to match. Not like they have anyone else on that team they have to spend money to keep.

Maybe, but can't think of that many teams that are desperate for a PG. Might not get as big a deal as we think.

Oh, yeah I know they can match. I was just saying now they are probably going to have an much increased price for him.

But I could be wrong. Point guard is really deep right now in the NBA, so there might not be too many teams that pursue him.

Hayward is gonna be a good role player --- borderline all star.

I guess Utah has bigger plans.

Hayward vs Parsons is going to be the most interesting FA signings if LBJ etc.. don't opt out.

i betting on Hayward is gonna get more money than chandler

Wrong. Utah tried to re-sign him but he wanted more money. They resume talks in June. He will almost certainly re-sign with Utah.

I wonder what Phoenix was offering Eric Bledsoe. Not exactly a franchise player.

There is no point locking up Gordon Hayward when two of the most hyped players in the 2014 draft play the same position. One of those two is actually a black Mormon! Besides, Hayward rebounds like a point guard and gets you only 0.8 steals a game.

Same reason for Bledsoe...see what you get in the draft first. Last thing you want to do in the draft is drafting based on need instead of talent.

Not that shocking when u think about it.

Nba teams are only aloud 1 5 year max per team and they are obviously saving it for Drummond who has the higher upside ATM.

So they will now just match whatever offer he gets in FA.

Ugh. I hate that members of the media (and some fans, but mostly the media because it's their job to know) fail to differentiate between picking up a team option and reaching an extension. Totally different concepts.

When a player is drafted in the 1st round, he has 2 years guaranteed money with the amount determined by the "rookie salary scale" in accordance with the order at which he is picked. The 3rd and 4th year are at the team's option, but the salary amount is also determined by the rookie salary scale.

After the 4th year, however, there is no "option"to be picked up at any set amount. However, the team and a player can agree to reach a contract extension for years 5, 6, 7, etc. but (1) they must do it on or before October 31st of the player's 4th season, and (2) the $ amount for the extended contract is not determined according to some scale, but must be agreed upon between the player and the team.

Here, the Sixers picked up the "team option" for Moultrie and Wroten because they are just for the 3rd year of their contract and carries a small determined salary amount under the rookie salary scale.

They DID NOT decline to pick up any team option on Turner because there is no such option in existence. Turner was drafted in 2010, this is his 4th season, there is no option for season 5 and beyond. The Sixers and Turner simply did not agree to a contract extension probably because the team wants to see what Turner does with the new coach before committing huge money for up to 4 or 5 years on a contract extension for him.

I could see Jimmer Fredette going to OKC. They need his shooting (41.5% from 3 lst yr)
