Will the Rockets trade Eddie Griffin?

Will the Rockets try to obtain a decent PF or SF?

Will they make a coaching or front office change?

What changes do you think the Rockets will make now that this disappointing season is almost over?

At least six changes in the personnel / coaching / GM ranks.
I see it as the following.

Three of the following will be gone:

Jason Collier
Juaquin Hawkins
Tito Maddox
James Posey
Terence Morris
Larry Smith

==

Two of the following will be gone:

Kelvin Cato
Eddie Griffin
Moochie Norris
Glen Rice
Carrol Dawson

==

One of the following will be gone:

Cuttino Mobley
Maurice Taylor
Bostjan Nachbar
Rudy T.

==

Will be here:

Yao Ming
Steve Francis

My ROCKETS Offseason To Do List
• Re-evaluate the Rockets offense or get a new coaching staff! (more motion, passing and cutting).
• Try to trade for a 3rd star type player (i.e. Elton Brand).
• Facilitate Eddie Griffin & Bostjan Nachbar in having major offseason improvements in their game.
• Via trade or FA find a 3rd guard (no moochie).
• Add another "veteran player" into the rotation.
• Re-sign Posey ONLY at a decent salary rate, otherwise let him go.
• Use Cato, Rice (expiring contract) and possibly Mobley as trade bait to aquire better talented players (see above) to fit around Yao's and Francis' games. Only trade Griffin for a star type player. Look for Quality over Quantity.

Draft
-Hollis Price and Chris Marcus (both 2nd rounders)

PG-Francis/Price
SG-Mobley/Francis

PF-MoT/Ely/TMo

1.I would like to trade Mobes, and possibly EG for a consistent three point threat, someone who can do consistently what Glen Rice did for us some of the time.

The games where Glen had his shot working were great to watch. He was a threat, the ball movement improved, and teams defense weren't able to effectively double. The problem with Rice is that he was often hot and cold, a liability on defense.

2.Bring a veteran 'winner'. We need a veteran who's also played a role on playoff successful teams. Hopefully it will be someone not concerened with his own minutes or touches, and is interested in being a stable, and teaching influence.

3.If a major blockbuster deal that was sure not to be a bust fell into the Rockets lap, don't overlook it, but don't throw out the baby with the bathwater, and give talent away for lesser value.

I agree with Duece. Especially the part on not giving up on EG just yet, unless a star-type player becomes available.

1. Get an offense were we use Yao and let him actually help the team.

2. Find a Power Forward who his a good shot blocker and defender but won't take so many bad shots like griffen.

3. Draft one of teh following in the second round Kyle Korver, Hollis price, or Brandin Knight. Then instead of what happened to nachbar let who ever it is play.

4. Try to land a good free agent if possible

Play defense

A power forward who loves to do the dirty work and rebound

Run the floor with an improved fastbreak

change lite

Fire Larry Smith, Bill Berry or demote to scout.

Hire Van Chancellor, AC

Hire Moses Malone, AC?
Hire Hakeem Olajuwon, AC ?
Hire Clyde Drexler, AC?

Keep - RT, HC
Keep SF - PG

Try to trade any of Rice, Cato, Taylor, Mooch
throw in Cat, Griff (as necessary) to deal for a solid support player for Yao/Steve. (SAR, Brand, Odom, cap space for PJ Brown and Micheal Redd, etc.)

resign Posey 3.5 mil (play at 2, insurance for 3)

Bigger change :

Fire RT - (or move upstairs)

Hire Larry Brown
Hire quality assistants (like Van Chancellor)

Move Steve to 2
Get solid support players (see above)

Anything less is just making excuses.

For the shopping part :

We need :

a shooter
a big, bad mf
a wingman that can pass, rebound and finish

and then way down the priority list

a backup pg

Lots of ways to get those, maybe not every one of them this year. Get the best we can.
