Yes that was my point. They sent special ops. They didn't lie about special ops not being able to arrive in time from outside the country because the special ops that were sent were already in Libya.

It upsets us because right from the get go, they blamed this on a YouTube video and never told the families of those brave men and the American people exactly what happened.

 

You mean it might have been a good idea to have a bit of extra security for your diplomats in a country where you are also running counter-terrorism operations? Yeah, that is a pretty obvious goof.

 

Wait, the article says the special forces were in Tripoli? That just doesn't make any sense. I've seen several sources that show they were actually located in the Halls of Montezuma.

And yet, that has nothing to do with this article. The only new information in the article is that we indeed sent rescue forces.

 

How dare the government not give the public 100% of the info from minute one. The cops pull this same BS when trying to solve crimes. They intenionally withhold evidence when discussing the crime publically, which is basically lying. As an American, i should be privvy to every piece of evidence as soon as it becomes known. It's not like withholding that evidence has ever helped a case or anything....

I have no idea where and when the government is running secret operations. But I am not surprised by it, and I would expect we're conducting them all over North Africa and the Middle East, especially in less stable countries with terrorist groups around. You're right, that's also new information - but irrelevant as far as Benghazi goes.

I'm still trying to figure out what in this article makes bob (and you?) upset.
