i doubt the rockets will be doing a twin towers thing at the beginning of this game...dirk will feast on them.

I agree. Against the Dirks and K-Loves of the league, Asik should be coming off the bench for Dwight.

Actually kind of glad that the Rockets played Charlotte first night. Josh McBoberts' 3 point shooting exposed some problems with Dwight guarding him and gave Dwight and the team something to work on in preparation of Dirk.

If the Asik-Howard front line struggles early, look for the team to sub in Casspi at PF pretty quickly.

One other thought: I wonder if we should stick Howard on Shawn Marion with Parsons guarding Dirk. Seems to make more sense. Marion is a less threatening shooter and does most of his work around the basket with little cuts and flip shots. He is also a bit too strong for Parsons to guard sometimes.

true, but the bobcats were by no means terrible.

No. He will return to James form soon.

He had an off game, had a back issue, and proceeded to take over in the 4th quarter. I am not worried at all with what I saw in game 1.

Dirk isn't the same player. You have to make him beat you from the outside. If it doesn't work, then we can make adjustments. Protect the paint.

I am sure they will swap defenders often per matchup. I think its a good idea to at least put Parsons on Dirk. Dirk does have some weight on Parsons, so it could be tough.. but it can work.

If it is a lingering issue, then hold him out against the Jazz and let it heal. But I think with nerves, etc. It just tightened up, so I presume it will be a non-issue. *crossing fingers

Dirk will be shooting jumpers, so that weight isn't going to be utilized really

Ellis in opener last night went 11/17 32points 8assist, permimter defense needs to be in check and we have to deal with dirk, I hope mchale has a game plan because please believe Rick Carlisle will have one for the TT & I cant take another one these again. will be a tuff one

Let's see how Howard adjust to perimeter defense on Dirk this time. Twin tower is being tested once again.

Honestly think that Harden should just rest this game (or most of the game) instead of getting his wrist/knee injuries worse. I mean it's not only the first of a b2b but of a 4 in 5, and it's only the beginning of the season, KNOCK ON WOOD FOR INJURIES. (and for that matter I hope Beverley's better and doesn't reinjure himself)
