I cannot corroborate, but for what it's worth, there is a rumor all over the financial markets that President Reagan has passed away today. A sad day if it's in fact true.
I asked around a bit more. No one has heard anything. I might add, I work about 5 miles from Reagan's Century City offices.
I'm still hearing the same rumor from a 3 diff sources. I apologize if it ends up being all false - actually, it'll be good news to me if it is. In any case, the reason financial circles wouldv'e been alerted first is because the markets would be closed for a day shortly afterwards, as was done following Nixon's death in '94.

The very existence of this thread is completely inane. When Reagan dies, you're gonna know it. Every news organization in America has retrospective packages ready to go for the moment this happens. In fact, this is the second time in as many years that I've heard this rumor. Guess what else I heard today... Pee Wee Herman committed suicide.

Remember that Genesis video with all of the puppets of celebrities and politicians where Reagan accidentally hits the nuke button instead of the nurse button? That was funny stuff!
