I will reiterate a point I have made before --

I like Lin, I love his new role, I think he can win 6th man of the year this year.

All that said -- I really hope he gets traded as soon as humanly possible so that the Lin fans will go away.

Jeremy is a good player and seems to be a good guy. Definitely fun to root for and he helps the team.

Lin fans are psychotic and annoying, and, overall, my life as a Rockets fan would be net better if they traded Lin because of how annoying they are.

I am pretty sure he watched the game. This is exactly how I see it. When Harden is in the game, he got the ball once pass the half court line, REGARDLESS who is the PG, and then went ISO. Everyone else stand on the perimeter waiting.

Simple question. Assume you have to make one of the following two choices:

    A. Lin comes off the bench all year, averages 8 points, 1 rebound and 1 assist, and the Rockets win the NBA championship.

    B. Lin starts, averages 30 points, 14 assists, 5 rebounds, 3 steals and wins the MVP award. Rockets lose in 2nd round of playoffs.

    Which do you choose?

This. And also: it doesn`t matter what role Lin gets, as long as we are winning. Lin was clearly the major sub in this game, and will continue to be it. As long as he is playing good he will get his time.

I don`t know why you have to label it - starter, 6th man, scrub... He gets as much playing time as he deserves and it is his job to make the best out of it. Last game he did. So if you don`t think it is a 6th man role, because others are better at shooting 3s - well so be it, but a real Rockets fan would much rather look at the steller debut by Dwight Howard, is concerned for the health of Harden and Beverly and is happy with what Lin did in this game...

70% of the plays are like that? and he ends up running the clock down and NEVER passes it to an open teammate?

and you NEVER remember seeing harden stand in the corner and not have the ball?

Of course any LOF would pick option B. and is not even close (and rightfully so from a Lin only fan)

But most LOF would also pick option C:
    C. Lin, whatever starting or off the bench, averages 15 points, 6 assists, 3 rebounds, 1 steal and the Rockets win the NBA championship.

Harden should have the ball in his hands but he needs to pass and create ball movement. McHale in the post game presser kept saying the ball was sticky and there was no movement. Based on what I saw in the game the main reason for this was Harden.

Putting Lin on the bench is the best thing for him. Being a starter he will have a lot of pressure and struggle a lot and cost too much turn overs. He will learn more by being on the bench and he will make less turn overs.

so LOF's like you would rather the Rockets not win a championship if Lin is not going to average at least 15pts/gm?

You know what? That`s perfectly fine. The thing just is: this is a Rockets forum, not a Lin forum. So while it is great if you root for Lin, respect that this forum is about the team. Don`t whine, b****, cuss out other players/coaches and don`t start fights with other members on here - and don`t make everything just about Lin. If you want to, go to a Lin-forum or start one - or heck, start a Lin section on Clutchfans and move every Lin thread there. Otherwise, be respectful.

Look, I'm as big a Lin fan as a lot of folks on this board (only difference being I was also a Rockets supporter since Barkley joined here), and I do not fully agree with the organization's plan to make him the 6th man / backup point guard / reserve player / pine rider, however you want to call it, but you seriously need to chill with these accusations and conspiracy theory stuff now that the season has started.

Seriously, who gives a **** what the Rockets think about Lin. Lin's job is to make sure that whenever he is given court time, he plays smart, he plays sharp, he gets his teammates involved, he is aggressive, he makes everyone around him better, he is efficient, and he progress more and more towards his old Linsanity level. Add in shooting 3 pointers well, defending well, playing off the ball well, and his stock has got nowhere to go but UP UP UP as one of the most well-rounded players in the league.

Perform to that level, and then eventually, when 2 seasons are up, and if he is still only the 6th man (or whatever other term we want to call a bench player) with the Rockets, then he can pack up his bags and move to a team that will give him the starting point guard position. And if he does everything I have listed above, there will be at least four to five teams queuing up for his signature. He can be like James Harden flipping the Thunder the finger and moving on to become the centerpiece of a non-contender that is rebuilding towards contention or he can move on to be the 2nd or 3rd key player on a team that's almost going to contend.

There will be many possibilities and opportunities out there for Lin. The Rockets are not the only damn team in the NBA. But those possibilities and opportunities will NOT materialize if he plays below the potential we all expect him to reach. Reach his potential, whether as a 6th man, 7th man, 8th man or man #10, and after 2 seasons, he can do whatever the eff he wants. Whether it be with the Rockets or another team.

Posting all the nonsense you did on this thread DOES NOT in any way, help make him a better player on court. It just pisses off even the non-Lin fan moderates on this forum against the Lin fans. And it annoys the Lin fans who have also been Rocket fans before he even stepped foot into the NBA.

I know you are passionate about Lin's development. We all are. But don't let that passion be a poison. And as a Lin fan, you should hold yourself to a higher standard. GARM already has plenty of moronic posters. Lin fans can do more to show that they are on a better level, just like their role model.

Ultimately, it is up to Lin to make the Rockets REGRET losing him in the future if they continue to keep him on as a 6th man. Just like he made the Rockets regret not getting him on the cheap when they had several opportunities. Just like he made the Knicks regret not matching the Rockets' offer and getting Raymond Felton as his replacement. Just like he made all those scouts and coaches look stupid for bypassing him again and again. This is the best and sweetest form of revenge. And I am sure he is perfectly capable of achieving it.

Like I've said many times before, the most delusional fan base any player has ever had. It's not even close.
