This guy has been a Rocket's fan for longer than most of the posters on this forum have been alive.

Lin is a polarising figure. I hate bring race in, but Lin would have been a starter if he didn't stand out so much in terms of his physical appearance. Yes, there, I said it.

McHale, has done a great job in coaching. But it is disingenuous to suggest he hasn't had a role in pulling down Lin's career one way or another.

Thanks for this post. I had no idea this thread was here, didn't know it was closed and re-opened, all of that. Until I posted.

I was a credentialed member of the sports media about 15 years ago. I am not a credentialed member of the sports media at this time, and as such, don't expect myself or my work to be treated in that manner. That is fair. If I wanted to be treated that way, I would seek to get credentialed again.

    Thanks again, Rockets2K.

So Lin isnt starting because he is Asian? I love how everyone can dismiss Bevs talents but saying Lin is average or Bev provides something he doesnt is racist. IT IS PURELY A BASKETBALL DECISION. get over it.

judging by the responses to the podcast, from a guy who's been a member since the holier-than-thou year of '99...

you can be a fan and criticize a player on the team (as long as you have a '99 join date).

you can be a fan and criticize the decisions of the coaching staff or even front office (as long as you have a join date before 2012)

you can definitely support a player on the team (even if you have a late join date)

you can even support lin (gasp!) and criticize the organization at the same time if you have a '99 join date - wait... hell no! once you take lin's side on anything, you've completely lost your legitimacy.

is that how it works in here?

So Mchale is totally cool with (the majority of the team by the way) all the black guys on this team but has a deep seeded hatred for the Asian guy? Please look at what your saying. Are you honestly comparing Jeremy Lin to Jackie Robinson? Your statement is an embarrassment to yourself.

you can take sides with any player you want, hell I've had my fair share of rants for McHale's decision making before Lin was even here.

the stuff that's annoying is the non basketball related stuff such as "McHale's ego is being hurt for cutting Lin and therefore wants to screw him over" or "Sampson is racist for benching him" or "if Lin wasn't Asian he wouldn't have been benched" etc.

Look three post above you, that's the stuff that's polluting the forum and adds nothing of value to this forum.

Sorry Paul, but I don't believe this is some type of conspiracy/damage control. Morey and Les aren't afraid to take whatever moves to make the team better. Things changed, one lineup worked better than the other. You should know the front office is fickle like that.... you were here when the exact SAME thing happened to Brooks and Lowry. But you didn't take any offense to it until it happened to Lin. Come on bro.

Fortunately, I blocked hbomb. But I see some mention of race in your response to him. Hmm, some people are racist against the Asian point guard. . . . That must mean other people are racist against the Black point guard. Yes? "Oh no, no one's ever been racist against Black people!" I don't know: I'm all confused. Can you sort out the Asian haters versus the Black haters for me?

So some LOF's are now saying that the Rockets are a racist organization? The same org that drafted Yao Ming #1 overall?

Damn it's hilarious to see some of these meltdowns man. Lin will have more opportunities to score and create with the second unit. In short, his talents will be maximized with the second unit, as opposed to the 1st unit where there are 3 or 4 players better than him.

I have to admit, this is pretty funny. I would put some of y'all on ignore but I love seeing the delusional posts.

but i'm not talking about three posts above mine. they're crappy posts.

i'm talking about the cnm podcast, created by a long time member here, a guy who had an account since '99.

most people criticizing his opinion didn't even bother listening to his point of view - all they know is that it's pro-lin and critical of coaching staff and front office. well, apparently you can't have that in here.
