    You are correct.

Cats everywhere are extremely offended by the ping pong jokes.

Thank you coach McHale for realizing that talent is more important on this team than just some undeserved fame.

    That's a cute cat. :)

But this thread has been very revealing. These topics simply become a reflection of the poster. It's not about reality, it's about people's perceptions.

It's about htown's need to control the debate. It's about spiegel's inability to focus on anything besides what he DOESN'T want. These posters fixate on what they DON'T want and they keep receiving it over and over again.

It's a strange fixation and ultimately a ploy which allows them to remain on a bizarre moral high horse, where they have the "right" opinion (an oxymoron in and of itself), or hold the "moral" high ground (non LOF, a stupid topic to have a moral opinion about).

    Fascinating stuff.

let's not forget it's about imareal's desire to root for a player over an organization.

i will tell you what i want:

    a championship.

if that involves lin playing 10 minutes a game, or 40 minutes a game. i do not care. that is the last i will speak of jeremy lin outside of his in game performance.

good luck imareal. to be honest, it sounds like you need a gf.

I pretty much missed out on the entire preseason so far.....could someone clarify what is meant by this? Did Lin come off the bench for these games and set a "high" standard for that a la Ben Gordon or something?

Lin did pretty well the first three games and then got sick. Even though he still had a lot of assists, he played pretty sluggish in the last three.

Very true. I'm sure you can find similar kinds of comments on Twitter about LeBron.

Also from NY. I'm a Lin FIRST fan, but I really like the Rockets. I like D-Mo, Bev, Parsons, Asik and think they are a fun group to watch. I like Harden I just think that he's at his best when he's with Lin to let Lin do his thing more and sometimes he gets iso happy. But he's a great talent and seems like a good guy.

I think Lin's ceiling is a star player. I like his court vision, lifts the play of others around him when he's playing well. I like team playing and guys that pass like Kidd is in his day, Stockton, Nash, Magic, LeBron, guys that look to get their team mates going. Lin is very fast on his drives and he's just fun to watch. I hope he stays a Rocket so I can root for them. But I'll root for them even if he doesn't when he is not playing against them if he's traded or goes elsewhere as a free agent. I do not like the Knicks now except for Shumpert and Chandler and Coach Woodson is OK. I don't like Melo or Smith and their style of playing and don't enjoy watching them.

I like Lin better off the bench. He can be a good scorer but he needs the ball to be effective. When he's in with Harden, he tends to defer too much even when he has open shots.

Jeremy Lin is not some wussy. He wants the pressure. He performs better the brighter the spotlight on him. It's when he's marginalized and his role reduced, for whatever reason, that his play suffers. He plays better in the 4th quarter, especially in crunch time, or when it's a big game. He's a special player.

Look at how he played against NY when he went back to the Garden. He played a great game. And he is a big 4th quarter performer. I agree, him being marginalized and questioned and not showed faith in had to do more with his tentativeness, not wanting to make mistakes and displease the coaching staff and get his playing time reduced, more than his nature. His nature is to get in there in crunch time and be aggressive.

I don't see how Pat is going to be able to sustain his defensive intensity all 4 quarters. Especially concerning is his high foul rate. Without his aggressiveness on defense, he is equal to Lin on that end of the floor, which makes this move even less sensible.
