The following players are likely to be available by trade or FA. All are capable of helping the Rox. Whom do you want the Rox to pursue (without specifically naming any specific Rox rosterees)?

    SAR
    Miles
    Stack
    Christie
    Terry
    Antoine Walker
    PJ
    Camby and/or Spree
    Derek Anderson
    Bateer
    Vince Carter
    JuWann
    Brand
    Raef
    KVH
    Dikembe

Personally, I would chase after Carter and pursue Christie or Derek.

I wish we could get all of them.

    Eric Piatkowski.

    Jon Barry.

    Michael Redd.

There's too many that we can get...

    Just we won't get any.

verse, is that legal? A healthy Carter and Lebron would make the best duo in the Eastern Conference for a long time.

Derek Anderson sounds like a perfect fit. I much rather have Brand or carter but thats unlikely a guy like DA is very realistc.

If they get LBJ then Vince is gone. The team is rebuilt from (near) scratch.

a lot of good big guys out there.

how about this? clips sign and trade brand for maurice and cato. moochie and cash to clips for piatkowski (would start in place of mobley). would be nice to sign bateer for cheap as well.

hmmmm... oooops... forgot about a point guard.

    Vince Carter and Tracy McGrady?
Wouldn't that have been the best duo in the East and NBA?
    what happened...now they suck..

    ANYWAYS.

Best additions for Rockets would be...

    1. Shooter
    2. Rebounder

Say what you will about Vince Carter, but if he's available - you must chase him as marketing machine. The # 1 basketball marketing force in the world. Who knows ? If they land lbj and would dump VC for expiring contracts and/or backup centers ...hmmm.

I'd rather chase Brand, Odom and/or SAR. I'd love Micheal Redd.
    All depends on price/contracts.

I want to get rid of some of our guys, too. That motivates me to find matches that may not deliver my ideal player, but do deliver valuable trade-offs in re-shaping the team.

Vince Carter: 20ppg, 4.4rbg, 3.3asst and 1.12 steals. FG: 467 3p:344. All with a f*cked knee. I don't understand all the hate he get's. He was better before his knee injuries, but he don't suck!

??? VC ain't all that bad, and Tracy McGrady is just a badass. He's freakin' awesome. They don't suck. But yeah, the rox need a sharpshooter, they're alright in the rebounding area, but then again it wouldn't hurt.

Vince Carter is still very decent, and any trade that can net you him and Alvin Williams for Francis, etc. wouldn't be that bad, imo.

Vince Carter wont come to the Rockets and play the third scoring option, also he is too expensive and has physical problems.
My Favourites:- Elton Brand our Power Forward
    Derek Anderson our shooting Guard
    Eric Piatowski our crack 3pointer
How we get them is another thing! We keep Steve Francis, Yao Ming, Cato,Morris, Maddox and Nachbar. The rest can be used in any combination to make these Trades/Signings work!

If the best addition for Rockets were to be Shooter/Rebounder/ Passer/Veteran leadership that takes no bull **** and knows how to win.......once again Karl Malone sound really good right about now.

    Odom :)

Either Odom or Crawford. There is no other option. Those are the only two guys I know of that can play point some, and guard sg's that steve cant. Oh well.

I should start a thread for this, but WHY IS EVERYONE WANTING A VETERAN?

Name me one thing a veteran brings to the table.

All the excuses John Fiegan brought up about a veteran or Karl malone, can be solved bu bringing in a new coach.

If the players need "leadership" ,then thats the coaches responsibility to lead them.

If the players need "guidence",then once again, thats what a coach is supposed to do.

Rudy doesnt do this. Thats why everyone here agrees with me that he is best suited to coach veterans, its because he has no CLUE how to guide or lead ,or coach. He needs pippen, hakeem, barkley, malone to run the team since he has no clue how to do it.

If the current players are uncoachable, then the solution is not to bring in a veteran, then solution is to trade the uncoachable players.

The reason I didnt start a thread is because of all the idiots that will respond with "why do newbies with less than 50 posts start threads?" I know no one will understand what I just said, because if you did, then it would have already been said ,and I wouldnt be the first to say it.

    NO KARL MALONE.

Thats the "short term " solution. Thats not a long term solution. He would retire in one year, and the rockets would right back were they are now with trying to rebuild.

REBUILD with young players and keep them for the LONG term.

I meant Raptors suck now. If they still had T-Mac...they could still be good...but I don't know what happened. Orlando and Toronto. Two mediocre teams...

Together...they could have done well. MAYBE.

The Rockets need a veteran power forward and a younger sharp shooter.
