damn I thought this was a good thing to be such a prick about wanting to win. The great ones were never that popular with their teammates because of their drive to win. Guess times have changed. http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/9...-city-thunder-says-no-longer-obsessed-winning
That's a myth. Duncan and Hakeem and Magic and Bill Russell and LeBron weren't popular with their teammates?
Kevin, don't be so hard on yourself. It happens to everyone who is forced to work and live in Oklahoma. Time to come back to Texas.
Apparently the ownership in OKC doesn't care either. They told Presti they couldn't pay harden. Lebron was smart he realized he couldn't rely on ferry.
You gotta think about it man. Let's say you're on a team playing with somebody and they're a dick. Just a pick up game though. You can't sit here and say with a straight face that you're gonna give your all to win. Being a good teammate is important as hell, unless you're on a really stacked team. Imagine Serge Ibaka or Thabo Sefolosha not giving 100% all game. That's gonna be noticeable since their defense and just overall hustle is uber important to that team.
Hmm, who should we believe on this point? You, a random internet poster that probably wasnt actually alive before Jordan started winning, or a couple of top 50 HOF players on the NBAtv show Open Court, who just said that same exact thing when I watched it Sunday?
I guess OKC trading away Harden had a huge negative impact on him. It hasn't been the same for Durant since that day Harden got sent away.
Sounds like he's obsessed with winning INDIVIDUAL GAMES and lost sight of the long term goal of winning championship, and that he let losing affect his composure. Nothing wrong with what he said.
