Yeah man, I've really tried to "get" his stuff -- though I guess there's really nothing to "get." Seems to me that people either love his style or are completely turned away. No real middle ground.

Yes, The Darjeeling Limited. I thought it showed Anderson's most growth as a director since The Royal Tenenbaums.

When I saw this trailer I was impressed that it was A Wes Anderson film that actually doesn't have Bill Murry in it...and then I saw him at the end of the trailer.

Wes Anderson is probably the greatest living director of our time.

Every once in a while SNL gets it right. This was one of those times. Kudos.

You have to, as with anything, like someone's style of humor. Also appreciate the magical realism throughout his world's he brings you. It's dreamlike, which is why I find it really fun. Not all of his work is great though. I liked some of his "lesser movies" and didn't like some of his hits.

That was hilarious, thanks. Can't wait for his next film.

Made me go on a random Wes Anderson YouTube journey. This has to be one of my all-time favorite scenes of any film.

Saw this last night - it was such a great film. The comedic timing on some of the bits was just awesome. Ralph Fiennes and the actor who played the protagonist 'Zero' both did a marvelous job acting. I would highly recommend anyone who is a Wes Anderson fan to see it - and in general would recommend anyone to go see it - especially right now when there isn't much to see out there.

Additional CSB - Danny DeVito was also in attendance at the screening I went to last night. I didnt notice him walking in (he is quite short) but he was a few rows ahead of where my buddy and I were sitting and saw him on the way out. He was with a buddy but was really nice and was talking to people on his way out.

The_Yoyo, didn't you love the snow chase scene? I haven't felt that into an action sequence in a while, even though movies constantly hit you with action. There was something just so goofy and unreal about it.

Anyway, as I said in the movie thread, this is probably my favorite Wes Anderson movie up next to Rushmore. Fiennes is just incredible.

absolutely it was done differently but it was done well

that whole sequence leading up to the chase with the monks had me rolling

normally the switching of different aspect ratios would have thrown me off but I think it worked wonderfully with this film - framing the story appropriately.
