Cowboys just lost another heartbreaker because just like the Texans they play not to lose at the end of the game and thats what they do is lose. I think Texas fans deserve better than what we have. Texas is the laughing stock of the league both nfc and afc.

    Texans.

Cowboys have already been humiliated over the last decade and people aren't really surprised when they ***** it up.

Furthermore no one thought the Cowboys would be any good while the Texans were supposed to be Super Bowl contenders

Mediocre Cowboys are 4-4 with a point differential of +44

"Superbowl Contender" Texans are 2-5 with a point differential of -72 (only NYG, JAX worse)

    Is this really a question?

If they were playing not to lose, why did they pass on 3rd down with about 2:33 left? Had they run the ball, they would have at least forced the Lions to burn their second time out. Had everything progressed exactly the same had they run on 3rd down (doubtful), the Lions would not have had time to score the TD at the end.

If they were playing not to lose, why even take a chance with the handoff on 3rd down with a bit over a minute left? Had they just fallen on the ball, they would have burned 35 second, instead the subsequent holding penalty acted like an additional time out.

In retrospect, the Cowboys would most likely have won this game had Romo simply taken a knee on the 3 plays prior to the Lions final TD.

7 games will win the NFC East so they are still in good shape.

Neither. Do you have an argument to refute what I wrote?

Had they been playing not to lose and Romo taken 3 knees at the end, what do you think the outcome would have been?

The fact is the Cowboys went into protect the lead mode after the bryant td and ran some of the most pathetic plays that would have made Kubiak proud. Not even gonna excuse the defense for their part which was pathetic. The game announcers had already written detroit off, are you kiddong? This is Texas we give up games like this regularly.

The outcome would have been the same, they would have still had time to win the game. When you worry about running clock instead doing what got you there you lose. How about a first down? Its the SoS Garret and Kubiak are two of a kind and texas fans get the pleasure of watchin both of these losers.

So, you are saying the Lions would have gone 70+ yards in 35 seconds or so, with no timeouts, even though it took them 50 seconds to ultimately score the winning TD?

Retrospect and hindsight or whatever you wanna call it, ok they would have had 15 seconds less. The fact is losers leave the door open. Shut The Freakin Door!

The truth is that Matt Stafford threw two excellent passes that threaded coverage. As a receiver, you have to make those plays...The real crusher was the first long completion. Giving a big arm QB like Matt about 40 yds for the TD is nothing...And Megatron isnt human...he is the leader of the Decepticons...

No, not 15 seconds less, 30+ seconds less. The holding penalty effectively caused a timeout. Had the holding penalty not occurred or had Romo simply taken a knee, then an additional 30+ seconds would have run off the clock. In other words, had they truly been playing NOT TO LOSE, they would have been in much better shape (assuming they would not have held on a kneel down).

This was a game where playing NOT TO LOSE (i.e. take 3 knees), would have been much more beneficial and probably would have enabled Dallas to win the game.

Good answer but the lowest payroll with no expectations buys them some leniency. The Longhorns,Texans,Cowboys = Deadheat..
