The curse of PS4? <iframe width="420" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/fsgQw5EToE4?rel=0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> RIP Lou.
Wow, horrible news. The Velvet Underground & Nico is one of the three best albums of the 60s, and perhaps one of the three best albums of all time.

An amazing artist and icon... We are seeing many of the music greats from probably the greatest period in music pass away.

One of my idols and touchstones... <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/aN-5FoLGaxE" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Bands' band, Writers' writer.... I learned to play guitar because of Velvet Undergound and Lou Reed. He was an authentic something in a world full of fabricated nothings.
The man's influence cannot be overstated. Look at the bands and artists he's had a major impact on: U2, REM, Pearl Jam, Bruce Springsteen, Jackson Browne, Nirvana, The Pixies, Green Day, The Ramones, Iggy Pop, The Talking Heads, Blondie, Kiss, Alice Cooper, The Replacements, Metallica, Guns N Roses, Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, Cheap Trick, The Pretenders---all of these groups have either recorded cover versions of VU/Lou Reed songs or cited them as a major influence. And he died on a Sunday Morning, the name of the first song on Velvet Underground & Nico. How appropriate.
No! What a depressing thing to discover. I'm just glad I got to see him several times, starting back with his Velvet Underground days, when they played clubs in Houston. What a freakin' bummer. :-(-
One of the most interesting singer/songwriters in the history of recorded music. I actually saw him live once and a bunch of idiots were heckling him, obviously because they had no clue who he was or what his music was about. A true original.
Get ready, because this is the decade they start dropping like flies. So see as many of them as you can while you still can.
