I said this month's ago...I am gonna sue Feigan for stealing from this BBS.

By the way it would mean instant playoffs.

If K Malone goes to SA then we might be able to work out a way to get Brand, as he wont be going to SA.

Bayui99:- Sorry about Malone, I am used to the English spelling Carl instead of the German Karl. I knew that I had made a mistake but forgot to go back and correct same.

I would love this idea if so many of our younger players weren't such undisciplined big mouths. This isn't a team that needs veteran guidance, it needs a complete attitude adjustment.

Talking the probability of him coming to your team is another issue in my book, but why all the hatings ?

I mean, when the news about his availability is brought up, and the fact that SA and LA are the most likely teams to get him, there are plenty of interests among us, Spurs fans, despite the BAD history of him against us

Remember the elbow which nearly sent BigDave into early retirement ? ( just missed by couple inches )

He'a as dirty as Shaq ass, but still can play and give you the vet presence ( a soon to be hall of famer one )

If this summer your team has a chance to get him, then GET him !
Especially if all its take for the trade is Mobley ! Griffin could learn under his guidance for sure, and you could get a good SG anytime in the future with your MLE, cause they are DIME a dozen

    A line up of :

    Yao Ming
    Karl Malone
    James Posey
    Erik Piatkowski
    Steve Francis

could easily run amok in the postseason, after MAKING it first !
    ;)

we can drop one of our many small forwards and keep 3 power forwards. itd be good to have one of the best 4s to ever play the game show our 2 jokes how it should be played. eddie has a similar body to malone....now if only hed play like him.

malone and rice are the top 2 veteran leaders outside of jordan id want on my side for leadership. not only that but to have yao and malone working the post. that is one huge weak side to be kicking it over to no matter which way you look at it.

we needed an anthony mason type bruiser anyway. taylor can score but cant play defense, griffin can play defense but lacks offensive fundamentals. that can be improved. malone was a horrible freethrow shooter when he got in the league. now look at him.

im all for karl malone if he can show us how to get to the playoffs

To those of you thinking that Malone may be heading to San Antonio, I think you're wrong. I have a friend who has VERY solid sources all the way up to the Spurs VP, and the word is they want Jermaine O'Neal, that is if they can't get him to leave Indiana. As much as I hate to say it, I think Malone will be in L.A. next year, or possibly Dallas, not that I want him on this team anyway.

This is a terrible idea. It's well known that if Francis and Mobley hate the Jazz then they also might hate Karla as well. Do the Rockets really need a leader who sits on the bench and sulks like he did when Kobe didn't want his pick in the all-star game? I could see him responding the same way if Francis didn't hit him with a pass the way Stockton would have, crying on the bench. The Rockets need a leader but I don't think that Malone is it. The Rockets need a veteran who's been in the playoffs and has a nice rapore with today's younger player, that's not Malone. The only reason I would want the Rockets to sign Malone is in order to bench him so he will never reach the scoring record.

As for bringing in Pippen. That's just blasphemy!

Malone will be in SLC next year. Where he belongs. Keep on truckin' Karl, in Jazz gear.

BTW - just how would the Mailman be delivered to H-town? Feigen's riff was just plain ridiculous.

Stick any other name in there, and it will be o k.

Karla will show Yao how to elbow people.
Karla Maloney Bologna will show Steve how to flop.

    Stop the corruption.

FREAK IT. I am so glad FEIGAN is a newspaper writer and not a basketball executive like all you Rockets 2003 haters...

Rockets forever. We will never LOVE a Jass.. Yazz... Yass... Yas... Jasz...

see, I can't ever spell that team's name... for some reason, my keyboard refuses to type that sequence...

We could trade Rice and Griffin for Malone and Stockton (sign and trade deals). Make them take Moochie, too - that kind of package would mean Malone and Stockton could split $15 to $16 million. The sign and trade contracts have to be three years, so only guarantee the first year.

Please , never another Jazz in Rockets History please. We might as well sign death or Satan. Plus Cuttino is capable of making even one of the all time greats(I hate to say) look like a sorry player.

If we could get death I think that would be a great addition to the team.

I have been a Rockets fan since I came to Houston in '84 and have seen more of the Jazz hijinks than I care to remember, which makes it painful to say that Malone would be a great fit for this team.

We need someone to throttle Mobley when he dribbles 4-8 seconds off the shot clock. We need someone who will give Brian Grant an elbow or two when he draws Yao's blood. We need someone to help show Yao and Eddie how to play as big men (although I still hold out hope that Dream will come in as an assistant coach). Most of all, we need someone who will impress upon our kids that when you PASS the ball, you get open shots. The time for dribbling and creating your own shot is during the last 4 seconds on the shot clock, ala Jordan, Dr. J, etc.

It is even more painful to consider Stockton, too, but a rotation of Stockton and Stevie starting 1 and 2 with Mobley off the bench would create a backcourt attack that would be pretty awesome. He would teach even more about the virtues of getting open shots on the pass rather than the dribble.

I still like Calvin's suggestion during the game the other night - Let some air out of the ball and go through training camp being unable to dribble the ball. The games the Rockets lost this year were lost due to the lack of passing and teamwork. No matter what you think about the Jazz, Malone, or Stockton, getting either or both of those guys would help Rudy teach the team about ball movement and getting something out of every possession.

Right. Let's get Malone, Stockton. Might as well lure Kirilinko, Harping too. In fact, let's trade our team for their team. We'll become the Houston Jazz. Hey, there is a nice ring to it!!

I’m not sure what you are drinking but can I have some of it? Cause my friend you are highly disillusioned.

The Lakers would love to have Karl Malone. With Malone, the Lakers would have the most formidable front court. Malone can also hit the open shot which is why the Lakers do poorly sometimes. Come on...Malone is an upgrade compared to their current power forward rotation of Horry, Walker, and Madson.

Same can be said of Malone and San Antonio. Malone would add depth if he stays at power forward position. Or if Malone and Duncan play together they could rotate playing the center position.

    As for Dallas and Malone...

Dallas needs Malone as much as Malone needs Dallas. Dallas needs a power player who can guard the big guys. Malone can be that player if he wants to be. Malone can guard any power player in the league including Shaq. If Malone made that kind of transition he would be just as good as Alonzo Mourning as a center. The real difference is that Malone can hit the outside shot and he would have plenty of opportunities because Dallas plays a quick up tempo game and hence takes many shot attempts. The only problem I for see is Malone keeping up with the rest of the team during transition cause he is 40 some years old. Having said that, Malone is probably one of the best conditioned players in the league.

    As for Houston and Malone...

Malone, didn’t want to be at the All-Star game a few years ago because he didn’t want to be involved with the immature younger players. Remember we are talking about the all stars here. Sure he showed up but you could tell he didn’t enjoy a minute of it. How do you think Malone would feel playing along side this group of players? You think he has the patients to watch Steve Francis make a bone headed pass over and over again? Just remember, this is the guy who has been playing alongside John Stockton all these years. Besides Ostertag, Malone is used to consistency and efficiency on the offense. Our point guards have yet to prove they even understand the word “efficiency” let alone create an offense that seems to be well oiled and running. Could the Rocket’s even understand the pick and role? Who knows but I know Steve Nash does for I have always called him the second coming of John Stockton.

Conclusion: My friend, there is no need to fantasize the idea that Malone would want to come to Houston. If we are thinking about a power forward, I would start thinking about Elton Brand. Brand is one of the most efficient players in the NBA. This guy can flat out play...the only problem is that this guy is also going to want the MAX.

    Here are his statistics
