Hey y'all, A friend and I started a group on Facebook to try to get Rockets fans in Austin together and watch the games. Please join https://www.facebook.com/groups/austinrockets ! We plan on going to Lavaca Street Bar for most of the games. My friend has been in contact with one of the people there and she has been pretty accomodating so far, most likely because the establishment already host all of the Houston Texans games. Look forward to see some of you throughout the year!
I'm trying to coordinate with Lavaca St Bar and as of now, they do not have League Pass. Right now I'm focusing on setting up a few meetups for larger national TV games. I think our first meetup will be either for the Clippers or the Lakers game at the start of November.
I don't do FB but the MRS and I might drop by for one of those... if we get a free night one of these days. Sounds like a good time!
Sounds good! Spread the word to other Austinites as well. Most of the people I know here are transplants like us who root for other teams. We need more red nation up in here.
Problem with Pluckers - central one is in West Campus, parking can be a hassle and typically have to fight other NBA team fans to get the Rockets game playing. If either the spurs/mavs playing there is usually a huge split. Also r****dedly packed all the time so it's always a crapshoot to get a table
Lavaca is a Houston-friendly bar with great food from Turf N Surf. Better than any Pluckers or Third Base.
There is a new 3rd base in the North on 183. Without the college crowd, I doubt that one will get very busy on the weeknights.
I'll come for some games -- eat a Po Boy and watch my Rockets. It will feel like being back home. Great idea.
