man i'd love to live inside the loop...i'd never want to leave. after 5 years of living in the galleria area, i've probably been to the galleria three times. i could easily live with never setting foot in the galleria ever again. plus this side of town is just fug and scary.

Y'all must be talking about a loop inside the loop.

I'm 10 minutes away from the Galleria via Memorial and I can't even remember the last time I've been IN the Galleria. I'll park in the Nordstroms garage to get clothes tailored, but the entire mall is just too much walking, plus I've heard there are gangs who throw signs, so I have no idea what color to wear and not get killed.

Skyline Bar at the Hilton Americas would be a great place. I would check with them to see if they're still renting it out.

    Great view!!!!

The Petroleum Club at the top of the Exxon Building is pretty sweet too. Have had some work functions in there and went to a wedding there as well

It's OK. I'm used to the Ulcers but these roids, when they flare up, WHOA NELLY! BURN!!! I have to dip my buttocks in cold water to heal. The paranoia got my mind playin' tricks on me sometimes, too.

BTW Juan, sarcasm, I'm dripping in it. Kinda though that was obvious.

I've been to a wedding there too. Very Batman-y way up there.

The bar may have closed down but I bet you could still rent that room out. That is unless they've turned it into something else. It's a great view and worth following up on.

I've done parties at several of the places already mentioned. Brenner's on the Bayou, Rainbow Lodge, Petroleum Club (great view), Hilton Americas. I'll add in The Grove (at Discovery Green) and Artista in the Hobby Center.

Love Artista but do they do parties? The OP also needs to mention his budget, as Artista and most all other would cost a small fortune to rent out, and with the holiday season approaching most have already rented out on weekends. I'd go with the outside deck/patio at Brenners myself.

I played a wedding reception there a few years ago, so yes, they do.

I had prom dinner (with a group of a million HS jabronis) at Artista's 90 years ago, lulz. So yee, you can rent it out.

Monument Inn has excellent seafood. Definitely worth a trip to the southeast side if you've never been.
