"Dude, you need to re-watch the whole tape of the game before you go around accusing people of fabricating stuff. "

well, i don't tape rockets games. anybody who does needs help. :D

"The comment that Yao was their pick for ROY was VERY CLEAR. "

well, i didn't hear it and since you're the one who thought both of the announcers were white. i think you're seeing things and hearing them too. cause it was pretty clear to me that one of them was black.

"I didn't say anything about race - you did."

see quote below.

"For what its worth, the two Sonic announcers (white guys ) on the League Pass game tonight both unanimously chose Yao as rookie of the year without any hesitation and with only a passing reference to Amare."

sure, you didn't mention anything about race. i believe you. and george bush said no new taxes also. i believe him too. NOT

a lot of media is basically just feeling sorry for amare and believing the hype about how amare has had to deal with a lot of struggles to be the mature person he is today or whatever. meanwhile, a lot of people feel yao is just an overhyped stiff who is supposedly loved by everyone since he has a commercial and a r****ded song at compaq center, so they think yao has had an easy road to success and are basically ignoring everything he had to do to earn people's respect to begin with.

Oh gee, Mr Spiral, I am so sorry for being a loser since I had to tape the game because I had to go out to dinner and couldn't catch the whole game from the beginning. I guess I should be a real man like you and stay in on Saturday nights to watch live TV.

What the announcers said is what the announcers said. Go argue with them regarding the veracity of their comments. I only reported what I heard and don't appreciate being called a liar and you can FXCK yourself (in the nicest way of course) if you want to throw around accusations without merit. It also seems that you are more concerned with the race thing than I am but I concede it is your right to do so and read what you want into anything that mentions race even in passing. It must be terrifically swell to be able to remain so pure and politically correct like you in our vast, rich and complex world.

I have already stated in the forum that I would fine with Amare and Yao sharing the ROY. Both have their merits but this thread was supposed to be about the expressed opinions on the ROY race by the experts, paid pundits and interested parties (players, NBA Alumni, etc.)

Which player is more trusted by his coach and teammates? I saw a crucial Suns vs. Timberwolf game on TV. The Suns won't let Amare out of the bench, he's just sitting there while Bo Outlaw plays great and the suns beat the wolfs. You just don't want a one dimensional guy in critical stretch of season too much.

Amare's importance in his team is far less than what Yao brings to the table for the Rox. For that, he should be the ROY. Sure, the suns probably will make the playoff. If Yao has the matrix & starbury, his team will make the playoff too.

Amare would be a pretty much nothing if he doesn't have those big 2. He will not be nearly as good as Butler alone in Miami.

Who help their the team win the match up between Rox & the SUNs. There's no match, Rox win 3-1 in the series.

I think it is simple...who is the best in the most catagories? The numbers don't lie. Yao leads Amare in almost all areas. Where is the argument? Yao is also at or near the top in more catagories than any other rookie. Loose all the other opinionated bull and go by the numbers and Yao wins. This is not a team award or a rookie of the day, week, or month. It is an award for overall performance. Besides even if the Suns make the playoffs and the Rocks don't you really can't use that as a measuring stick, because it's not like the would have beat us out by a landslide that would tip the scale THAT much. I mean you would be talking two games at best.

ballboy does not qualify as a job. i know you think you're a know-it-all since you clean cuttino mobley's underwear, but that doesn't make you an insider.

and i have been watching and playing basketball for 11 years. i'm only 21, so its not my fault, i'm not as old as you. and besides you were probably a janitor when i was first remotely interested in basketball.

I'm a Yao-fan, as well as a Rox fan of course. But I don't care who will win the ROY btw. This is not important, on both the development and the honour of Yao.

Spiral, it seems you have a crush on me and can't stop responding to my posts. Sorry, as I said in my private message to you - I am not gay and am not interested in your advances. Please don't take out your frustrations by attacking my parents. Judgemental gay losers who stoop to b****y behavior for fun are just not my bag. I am sure that you can find others of your own kind somewhere. Good luck. :)
