    Scooped up some house plants and some stuff for my yard dirt cheap at Houston Garden Center this weekend. I drove past two and they both had 70% off signs so I assume it's city-wide.

    Bought a magnolia tree and two new crepe myrtles using that same sale earlier this year. Incredible prices, really.

    Yeah, I bought a crepe myrtle there this time last year. It actually trippled in size and is about 12-15feet tall now. My only complaint is that it was mis-labeled to bloom with a dark redish pink color, but instead the blooms were a really bright pink. I bought it last fall and didn't learn that until late spring when it bloomed. Pissed me off.

    They start this in summer. Few people really buy plants at that time since most will burn up in the heat if not watered properly. But if you take care of them you can catch a really great deal.
