No they don't. I know you are Mr. "So objective that I actually root against the Texans" but the Texans do not launch at knees. They may dive, but it is literally impossible to not hurt a leg if you squat and then dive UP into the knee. That is as offensive a play as a DB launching at a WR.
Isn't that the same cheap-ass block that took Cushing out for a whole season last time? Defenders are right--a lot of concessions have been made on the offensive side of the ball to defend that side of the game... but until changes are made to protect defensive players than the game is still going to be unreasonably dangerous. Pretty stark example of the hypocrisy when a weak hit on Smith gets flagged, yet a block like that--which could possibly end a player's season--will probably go unpunished.
