This is probably a stupid question to ask. I am just wondering if you guys/gals really use the Ignore List function at all.

At first, I don't feel right to really "ignore" people because 1) I think I should read what he/she said before really ignoring/not replying his/her post 2) I would feel disappointed if I know someone "ignore" me so you don't do something you don't like people do to you.

But now I admit for some reasons, there are 9 names on my current Ignore List (don't want to name names though).

Are there any on your list? Why or what made you use them?

(P.S. I hope you're able to read this post of mine, that means I am not "ignored" by you :) )

The only person I had on my ignore list was CaraYip. Thank goodness she's no longer here. :p

I am glad I dont use the igonre list. Then I can read some guys/gals stupid post and think to myself. "Hey I really am smart, I mean look at what this idiot just posted" Its a real boost to my day. I only wish Troy barros was still here, I was on a confidence high when he posted regularly:D

I think there is a distinct difference in the question she is asking. Her question is specifically about the ignore list.

I do not use it personally simply b/c 1) I like to watch those who I would put on there make fools of themselves 2) I have a mental ignore list so when I see that person post, I simply don't read it.

I am probably on several ignore lists by now... Wah. ;)

I have a short one - three people who never seem to post anymore anyway. My policy on the ignore list is that it will only be used on people who do nothing but call me a f*ing jackass or something similar when they address a post to me, ie, someone who is no longer arguing issues or contributing to debate in any meaningful way.

If they are still debating issues while calling me a jackass, then that's fine. :)

I have never used the "Ignore List". Is it fun? :)

Seriously, I have only come close 3 times.

Once when Troy Barros (long before his infamous "Francis won't play of we draft Yao" tyrade) made a comment about my mother...

Once when someone named "New Yorker" continued bashing Houston for not supporting the Rox (it went on for days and IMO he was very obstinate and belligerent), and...

Once when some Spurs fan called me an "idiot" because I disagreed with him when he felt Hakeem had much more support than Robinson and that's why the Rox had championships and the Spurs did not.

I may be an "idiot" but I've never been banned!

I do use my ignore list, but you're not on it treeman. We don't really agree politically, but I generally find that your posts add insight and information in the threads you participate in.

I'm on your ignore list Rockets2K!!!! I feel so ashamed of myself.

I guess you can't read this though:

Rockets2k, I suck, and you are better than me. I worship the ground you walk on. All your points are golden, your knowledge is supreme, and i bow down before you. You putting me on your ignore list has made me re-evaluate my life, and use less abusive language with regard to my displeasure with the performance of the Houston Rockets. You have saved me thousands that would have accrued from psychological bills. Thank you, and you are by far the greatest poster that cc.net has ever seen. I am eternally grateful.

I've never used it. I also have a mental list, but rather including people that I don't want to ignore. The BBS is too busy for me to read every post!

Also, I'd find it confusing if another poster was answering or referring to a post made by someone on my ignore list. I guess I'm also about giving people another shot, so as long as they are not purposely trying to spam I'll try and find time (key issue here, lack of time!) to read what they have to say.

It had to do w/ making a tough decsion & this person basically went on about what a piece of **** I was 'cause hey, what does he care this is the computer...it must be make-believe....needless to say he made my ignore list....its really just more annoying than anything, 'cause every time he post, I see This Person Is on Your Ignore List

I'm sure that I'm on the Ignore List of half the people on here, but I myself don't believe in it.

It's like closing your eyes when you're 10 years old when there is a kissing scene on TV...

I just rarely believe in self-censorship. The only time I would ever use it, if there was a poster who just went out of his/her way to put me down, when it has nothing to do with basketball, or whatever the topic is.

It's funny how many people "hate" me because I disagree with them on basketball "issues".

Fighting over the internet is just juvenile and asinine.

When the ignore list first came around, I used it quite a bit. Now I don't have anyone on ignore, but I am thinking about ignoring quite a few people in the Rockets forum...mainly the chinese Yao-Only fans. I personally think they've ruined that forum...

Have never used it...doubt I will ever use it, unless this turns into an ESPN type of site. There are people I pretty much ignore, and don't respond to anymore because there is no point, and they get childishly insulting rather than argue a point, but I won't put them on a list.
