    I was 5 years old during the heyday of Luv Ya Blue. I still have an old photo of me wearing a Oiler Blue jacket. Even at 5 years old I could remember all the hoopla and fun. Great times.

    That thread needs to be moved or merged. Bum was an Oiler, not a Texan... and he meant more to the city and non-football fans than any coach ever.

    That sucks. He is such a big part of football history for Houston. Too bad he couldn't get the Oilers a championship back in those days with Earl Campbell running the ball. I remember those days as a kid and those are my earliest football memories when growing up in Houston. He was definitely a character...the urban cowboy of coaches. Who can forget that stupid Oilers song from those years to go with that era? lol.

    He's coaching in Heaven now, ya'll. RIP
