yes, offensively harden is the best SG in the league

however defensively he is probably top 25 SG in the league

so if you average the two, he is not as good as Wade

It's alright that you don't think Harden is better than Wade.

    We are all wrong sometimes.

To start this season, anyone who argues that Harden is NOT the best SG in the league is straight up idiotic and ignorant.

If we had Wade or Kobe the Rox would never have reached the playoffs.

    Kobe: 0.57% TS
    Wade: 0.57% TS
    Harden: 0.60% TS

That 3% over a whole season is pretty big esp. considering Harden was our only offensive option, Wade had LBJ take majority of the load and pick his spots while Kobe had Gasol and DH.

Not only that, it was last season. Kobe's gonna come off back surgery and Wade will be a year older and slower, this guy just scored 10 pts in the most important game of the season. Harden oth will be a year better, and from what he showed in preseason he's already playing D. It's not that hard to say Harden is already the best SG in the league, unless you happen to be a LOF.

SMH. TS% does not distinguish, as eFG% at least attempts to do, between a made 2-point shot and a made 3-point shot. Rather, a player’s total points are lumped together.Second, free throw attempts are weighted at .44. This is the most puzzling choice in the formula. The supposed rationale for this number is that free throws are not a full possession. But . . . are we measuring possessions? If so, then presumably we should distinguish between 3-point shots and 2-point shots for TS%. For example, it takes 6 possessions to get 12 points if you make only 2-point shots, but it takes only 4 possessions if you make all 3-pointers. And, anyway, is a FTA 44% of a field goal attempt, or is it more accurately understood as 33% of a 3-point attempt?

TS weights 3 pointers the same way EFG does.

and uh... the 0.44 is an assumption that 1 in 9 free throws is an and-1, people have done "actual true percentages" and while it shows players with large upper bodies and ability to absorb contact like Harden and Lebron would technically be slightly better, whilst slender upper bodies like kobe and curry would be slightly lower, the difference is rather small.

Umm no. Kobe on one leg would be a real terrible player. How he gonna get to the other end of the court? On a pogo stick?

Wade is top 15, that being said... Neither him or Kobe are better than Harden at this point in their respective careers. It is not homerism, it is reality.

Harden is average on defense, to say he is top 25 makes you sound incredibly ignorant since he was actually 7th in steals last season... That alone defeats that argument.

Does anyone else feel that Wall didn't deserve the Max but the deal was entirely justifiable?

And Harden is the better of the two, Harden can shoot the lights out from down town , where as Wade struggles at his shots. Wade is just a better defender. I take Harden over Wade any day.
