Maybe Case actually has a pair and looks forward to a challenge instead of cowering in a fetal position at the thought of playing against a good defense.....like his coach.....
He comes from the Shannahan school of never disclosing any injuries till the day of. It worked in the 90's before twitter/internet/instant information... now, it does seem pretty petty.
Case needs to start because if If Yates does, he'll more than likely get destroyed, and then Kubes goes back to Schaub against Indy if he is ready which is probable.
wait..our game is the afternoon game with the CBS A-team commentating? That's the 2nd biggest game of the week behind SNF. Guess the national TV audience can watch the Texans get humiliated...AGAIN.
Even if he declared one over the other, neither is a slam dunk decision... thus, both gotta be ready.
It's actually typical Shanahan: keep 'em guessing. It's an antiquated idea, given how important systems are in today's NFL - it's not like they have different playbooks for each of their QBs. I'm sure he knows *exactly* who's starting.
Great. Good for him. Pluck has won exactly 0 football games in the entire history of mankind. Kansas City's defense is, right now, on a historic pace: they are are scary good and would rip Keenum to shreads. I'm not sure Yates fares appreciably better - but at least he's been in high-pressure, meanignful game situations. Actually, you know what? Start Case - let's rip this band-aid and get it over with it so we don't have to possibly endure a disappointing season *and* a bunch of delusional fan boys crying for their favorite player ever to play. I hit my lifetime quota for that in 2006.
I'm sure the Chiefs are really concerned about which one of our crappy QBs is going to throw all those check-down routes. Brilliant psychological warfare by Kubiak.
I know they just lost to the pathetic Rams.... but I'm not ready to annoint the Chiefs as some can't beat juggernaut. I'm sure teams were saying the same thing about the Texans last year.
They're not a "can't beat juggernaut." But their defense has been tremendous, and our offense can put the damn ball in the endzone. Stranger things have happened, but I will be very surprised if the Texans win this football game, regardless of who is playing QB.
Backs against the wall. This team showed up against Seattle as a whole. You would think KC will get a little complacent being 6-0 while the Texans are 2-4. I don't expect a win, but wouldn't be surprised what so ever by it.
"That's why they play the games!" They do remind me a lot of the 2011 Texans... team coming off a bad season, with a new coaching scheme (Wade), an aggressive/playmaking defense, and a talented/no-mistake offense that wasn't super-dynamic, but got the job done.
They haven't played a single team over .500 this season and 2 of their wins were against winless teams. They barely beat the cowboys and only beat the titans because they were playing their backup QB. If we lose this game, it will be because we suck, not because the chiefs are that great.
It would take a near perfect game from either Yates or Keenum to keep Kubiak from putting Schaub back out there. Schaub is one of Kubiak's guys, he won't pull a 2012 Alex Smith him unless the back up dominated the whole game in a way Schaub hasn't shown against a quality opponent since his injury.
Careful! You are starting to sound like one of the Cowsheep up here. To hear them talk about it, EVERY team they face is not that great. I watched that Cows-Chiefs game and their win was no fluke. There is a reason why the Chiefs are 6-0 and the Texans are 2-4 and until they can prove otherwise ON THE FIELD, the Texans are what their record says they are and trying to minimize what the Chiefs have this season won't change that fact one iota.
