The heck is this thread? I'm pretty sure McHale lost us a few games while playing Delfino at the 4 late in the game.

i believe our best lineup is lin, harden, garcia, parsons, and howard. yet, garcia probably won't be given significant min in the regular season games (just as delfino.)

    Why does that even matter?

The issue is maximizing their skill set. Harden would have his skill set maximized if he plays with the ball, same with Lebron.

Lin is best utilized with the ball, unlike Beverley.

Well, we won't know. I guess I was just agreeing that if we had to start Lebron or Harden, then Lebron would be the clear choice. Maybe they can work it out playing together. Lebron and Wade did.

You know that those stats don't prove anything.

There are all kinds of factors that affect those stats.

Because him playing the power forward spot night in and night out in not sustainable for both him or the Rockets. And the need of him on the bench as our scorer was greater than him starting over our power forwards. Outside of him, Bev and Garcia to end the year, our bench was pretty sad haha

Saying that Delfino was our BEST PF was like saying a good relief pitch is a baseball team's best pitcher because he has the lowest ERA. Well if he's the best pitcher, why didn't they make him a starter?

Because the great pitching of great relief pitchers cannot sustain starter grinds.

Have you seen how they immediately go to Okafor when Delfino was guarding him? Okafor was not an elite scorer, but he abused Delfino inside.

This has got to be a joke. Delfino had his fair share of ugly off-nights, starting would've killed whatever effectiveness he had in spurts. There were games it made my eyes bleed to see him play. If anything I was more outraged that TJones barely played at the beginning/mid of season.

A lot of fans were criticizing McHale for starting Delfino at PF. Every time we loss, jokers would come in here and blast the mess out of Coach.

I agree with all the examples you gave following your first sentence. Those are definitely issues on this site, and are correct.

I still think it is a pretty damn embarrassing thread given that the guy that started it

    - Never complained about Delfino not starting when he was actually with the team last year

    - Grabbed some ****ty statistics that are, for the most part, meaningless (unless he wants to consider James Anderson a better player than James Harden)

    - Posted in the thread which you merged about Jeremy Lin (starting vs 6th man, which by the way I agreed with because it's two sides of one argument about one issue) that the thread should be merged because we don't need multiple threads about one issue

    - Then immediately turns around and creates a new thread comparing apples to oranges about a player that isn't even on the Rockets anymore, about an issue that wasn't even an issue when he was on the Rockets ...

    - To basically start a new thread about whether Jeremy Lin should come off the bench or not (or rather, why LOFs can't accept Jeremy Lin should come off the bench) after he said there's no reason to not merge the two threads

That whole sequence of events, is damn embarrassing in my opinion. Somebody later in this thread said that LOFs have double standards (which I agree with, as do the people who take issue with the LOFs may I remind), but if the premise of this thread and the sequence of events that preceded it, and the guy who started it didn't exert a high degree of his own double standards when he created this thread, I don't know what that was.

    -------------

My personal opinion is very simple. I agreed with the merging of the two Lin threads. Basically arguing the two sides of the same equation. I also think on the Internet, you need to have a thicker-face on, unfortunately (as common etiquette and courtesy goes out the window for a good portion of people when you can't put face to name), so you'll hear a lot of people say relatively unkind things that you won't hear in real person. So I have no problem also with not changing the thread title of Jeremy Lin should be the sixth man to something more neutral. Who argues about that crap anyway? It's the logic and reasoning in the argument that matters, not the thread title.

But I have a problem with a guy who goes into that thread and writes that the thread should be merged - it's discussing two side of one argument - and turns around (almost immediately) to create a new thread using a guy who's not even on the Rockets anymore about an issue that wasn't even discussed when he was on the Rockets (and that he never had an issue with last year) to create a new thread discussing the exact same thing, and basically using an chicken stew to cement mixer analogy to troll.
