How long before Clyde and Bill are at each other's throats like this?

Clyde makes me laugh. I love our commentators and wouldn't trade them for any other team's.

The closest I've heard is when Clyde said two Rockets were "literally killing each other" in practice, and both Bill and Matt started making fun of him by incorrectly using the word literally all telecast long. Clyde finally said "stop", but they kept on going.

It was a joke. Later in the game they said they were joking how they were cut off etc.

They definitely have an "act." Kind of like Marv Albert and Fratello used to have. It's actually quite funny. I don't think Clyde has the sense of humor to pull off something like this.

Clyde may say some nonsensical things, yet I feel the commentating is a good mix. Always fun to laugh at a dim witted comment/analysis. Even more enjoyable is Clyde doesn't catch what Bill and Bullard are laughing at most of the time.

Yeah that was weird. It was like Fratello was the schoolyard runt instead of a former NBA coach. Didn't Steve Kerr used to get in on it too? Never understood that.

About the Rockets, it always seemed to me that Bill Worrell was slightly condescending to Calvin Murphy. I mean it had turned into a schtick, but it felt a little odd. Like Calvin was this clown instead of the real basketball player between the two of them.

Then again, it seems most posters prefer Bill Simmons to Magic Johnson, which makes me say WTF? In each case it is the real b'ball guy taking a back seat to the talking head. Obviously I am in the minority on some things.

I don't hate him. Hell, he helped bring us our second title. He could be up there talking about sandwiches and I'd be good with it.

    I love the guy!

We have a commentator who does the same sort of thing when calling the rugby league in Australia called 'The Big Marn' Darryl Brohman. It adds a bit of light hearted comedy to the intensity of the game.

He is hilarious with his ineptitude, always telling the lead commentator that he could easily do his job...then failing when given the opportunity.

    Y'all are just to serious...

The different is that when the Big Marn does it, it's funny. When Gus and Rabs do it, it's self indulgent crap and it's horrible to listen to.

Also, no one else on this board knows what I just said.

Yes you are. Murphy often schools Worrell on basketball analysis and Magic shouldn't have any business in commentating basketball games with his short-circuit in the English language part of his brain.
