Offense has become totally predictable. On TJ's pick 6 they knew exactly what was coming. It's almost a fantasy football type of offense that can pile up yards but not points and more importantly wins. But what is alarming to me is that Wade's defensive history appears to be rearing its ugly head and that could spell doom. I saw this happen when he was here at Dallas and the end result was that the (Cows) team quit on him. I think that point is rapidly approaching for Kubiak. While the offense did them no favors today, the defense still failed to force any turnovers. They struggled with a mediocre (at best) Rams team - one the Cows carved up like melted butter. While it should be abundantly clear that the Texans weren't as good as many believed them to be at the start of the season they should be playing nowhere this bad. The coaches suck, the players suck and they continue to dig their own graves week in week out.
I wasn't certain what to expect (none of us were), but I kind of expected a "bounce back" against the "lesser" Rams. The team is more broken than most of us realized. The down mental state of the team seemed obvious early. Longstanding issues have drained the spirit of the team. 1. The play calling is uber-predictable; defenses might as well be reading our game plans. 2. Team leadership especially on the offensive side is too "laid back," absolutely no sizzle, no emotion, excitement.....just bland. 3. Yates is Schaub version 2.0, not the answer 4. Foster has still got it, but other teams tend to know when he is going and where he is going. 5. Mistakes, untimely penalties, etc. are a discipline/accountability issue that relates to leadership. 6. This team never seems to begin a game with an "edge." Leadership. 7. The difference between the top teams and the bottom teams to a great degree relate to "edge" issues. Talent is critical, but the differences in talent at the professional level are not as great as most make them out to be. Longstanding systemic issues have come to the surface and there is no quick fix. If Uncle Bob does another "in your face" extension of Kubiak at the end of the season, fans are faced with a decision. I have already made mine.
For the last time, the reason why you lose, the reason why your entire post history in this thread is an epic failure, has to do with the FACT that you did not know it was a mere ankle sprain at the time you made your comments known to the board. This is why everyone here has called you out (note that, of the countless posters in here today NONE of them came to your defense). Your blatant disregard and lack of sympathy for another human being's injury was only compounded by your position that he is unworthy of said sympathy from you because he is a millionaire. This sums up the totality of your posts in here. Every effort you've made to deflect responsibility for your original position, only makes you look weak and spineless. Own it and move on. I'm done here.
It is pretty hilarious how you pretend to know what professional athletes are thinking, that somehow because they make millions of dollars a year they must automatically be happy. Money doesn't buy happiness, and I bet plenty of athletes will tell you that. Now sure in the grand scheme of things Schaub may do just fine. Hell Carr got run out of town long ago but is still plugging away as Eli's backup. But regardless of what he makes, go back and look at that replay and look at the pain he is experiencing. Look at the way his ankle contorts. Man to man (not average joe to starting NFL QB), I wouldn't wish injury on any athlete and certainly do not want any player to go out like that. You do not cheer for something like that. PERIOD. Honestly I don't care if you have no sympathy for him, you still don't cheer. It's completely classless and akin to kicking a man when he's down.
Dear DD, Please stop picking Rockets players as your personal favorites, it never ends well. Sincerely, Rockets fans everywhere
How have I not owned it up? I still stand by the fact that I don't feel sympathy for the predicament that Schaub was in. And I used basic common sense to judge that Schaub's injury even as it was happening would not be anywhere the realm of life threatening or permanent wheel chair bound. Dude was holding his ankle.
Highlights of the game(yes, believe it or not, there were highlights) Spoiler Matt Schaub trying to twist his leg?! Bad Matt Schaub! I guess the Rams got their payback. (No, I'm not glad he got injured.)
This is probably JJ Watt and the defense as a whole worst game of the season to date. All that being said, I put this on coaching, not just because of the Schaub situation but because this is another game where anticipation was high that the majority of the team on both sides of the ball wind up making mistakes that kill offensive drives or aide in the opponents scoring on both sides of the ball. No one player or side of the ball was responsible for this loss, yet in a situation like this a lot of problems can be traced back to coaching failures which almost all trace back to something Kubiak did or fail to do. Blame the fact that most of Houston can't even see the Rockets on their home televisions and we are Texas where football is more accepted as a religion then even Scientology. Not to mention, its preseason... preseason where so far the majority of the games have been played in foreign countries with radically different time zones. Love the Rockets and basketball is my favorite sport but no one cares about the NBA until December or later.
it was embarrassing how the commentator knew exactly what the Texans were going to do on that pick 6 he even called Kubiak out later on for being predictable
Uncle Bob doesn't want to end the contract, thereby having to pay them not to work and ultimately someone else to do the job he's also paying the new guy to do. Couple that with what I believe to be a complete cluelessness about the game of football and that is why he is one of the worst owners in the league, but bless him for bringing this trash to my Sunday afternoons. BLEH!
Exactly, the fans are on the hook for everything yet we are the bad guys when we call them on their ****.
I mean my God the Jaguars are putting up my points then our offense. I can't take this **** no more aaaaarrrrrrhhhhhh
Not only that but while watching the game, didn't you just KNOW when they were going to hand off to Foster & Tate? I was astonished at how many times I knew what was coming even on that pick 6. That's the biggest problem they have on offense right now and good defensive coordinators have reams of film showing this. Everyone appears to have caught on except Kubiak who keeps running the same plays in the same situations again and again.
