the commentating was horrible. I had to mute them at times..

 

come crunch time, our Centers are gonna get fouled and cant throw a rock in a ocean

so this team has some weaknesses too

- FTs for Centers

- no PF

- SG that doesnt play much defense

 

too early to determine as of now. but if this team gets past the first round that automatically makes them better already.

 

I feel ya man, but its in the past now. Got nowhere to go but up :grin:

To me that 3rd quarter showed that the pacers are the better team and would be the rockets in a playoff series. The rockets will definitely have to get better in playing in the half court against teams that play good defense.

 

no they were just lucky making a couple of difficult 3s in row and we play relaxed because of a huge lead we had...as soon as we woke up we run away to a huge lead again(cca 20 points difference)

 

btw whats pacers gona do when they face up our twin towers?

 

Very positive after this win, because:
- Casspi is consistent and will probably fit that Delfino role perfectly. He's a very quick after he gets the rebound and a willing passer
- Our unselfishness and passing was off the charts, if this is how we play during the regular season and ego's are really set aside, this team will eventually win big!
- Parsons, Lin, Harden all did very well
- As a team, we're very crafty and good at shot blocking.
- Defensively, I saw some nice things again from Brewer, but also TJ and Garcia.
- Jones shot was off but his shots were not forced, he did well helping out and was ok on defense. Even though D-Mo is doing better at the moment, we need his offense off the bench more I reckon.
- Brewer would be a lock if he could shoot better (and quicker)
- Howard struggled because he again seemed to make up his mind what he was going to do instead of reading the defense. He also got fouled a couple of times that were not called and was just defended really well.
- Garcia is back and boy did he look good!

 

That's wrong. Rockets changed their gameplay in the 3rd. They were going to Dwight every single time. Pacers were doubling him and Dwight wasn't scoring.

But the Rockets kept going to him because it's preseason and they wanted to get Dwight some work.

First half was pick and rolls and it was working beautifully.

If this was a real game, the Rockets would be mixing it up. They were just practicing getting the ball down low in the 3rd quarter.

 

Also we got it back because our bench players are better than theirs.

I thought our two stars were trying to force the issue at times instead of reading what the defense was giving them (or not giving them). Seems that the Pacers were trying really hard to take Howard and Harden out of the game, and at times it worked.

When Howard and Harden start reading the defenses a little better and reacting sooner, it will spell trouble for any team that plays us because we have a great complement of shooters.

 

I'll remember this thread when the rockets play at indiana in december.

I like the maturation of our two young 4s; especially DMo who played well off the bench both games. Looks like getting Lin the ball off the dribble is the best way to integrate his strengths into our system. He looked really confident in his stroke. We passed the ball extremely well as a team. Casspi is going to be a deadly stretch 4, and unlike most stretch 4s, he can actually rebound. Parsons is a complete player in just his 3rd year.

Very excited. We looked good!

 

we held the lead all game and beat them in Philippines too. Not to mention asik wasn't there and are chemistry isn't there yet either. we're a better team.

 

Is it just me or does Lin look like he's jumping higher than last season? Looks like he's going a little higher when he dunks now.
