Holy crap, how close to ZBo does this guy look like. Look and moves pretty much spot on. Cleveland will be fun to watch this year.
Well if Bennett becomes ZBO 2.0 without the attitude I think the Cavs office will be absolved for wasting their last 2 top 5 picks last year and the year before. The clock on Irving is running out, they need to surround him with legit sidekicks or he's gonna pull an LBJ 2.0 and take his talents elsewhere.
Ummm. Has anyone seen Dream? I think he saw those post turnarounds and realized he was coaching the WRONG post players.
Watching that on NBAtv earlier, I was going nuts. I know it's one preseason game but this kid has way more potential than I thought.
They should've paired Irving with Valanciunas. Waiters was an interesting pick, especially with Barnes and Drummond still on the board. I'm not sure wasted is the right word, but they did gamble with those picks. Thompson has underwhelmed, but they didn't expect instant impact from him. He left Texas a raw, undersized PF with limited offensive ability, and he averaged 12 & 9 in his 2nd season on an abysmal squad. He will only get better. At one point last Feb, Waiters went for 26 (11-17) & 25 (10-16) points in back-to-back road games @ MIA and CHI. He also had a 33-point game earlier in the year. He has shown flashes of brilliance.
It's a wasted pick because they clearly left better prospects on the board because they wanted quick wins. If they didn't expect instant impact then why get Thompson over Valanciunas? Valanciunas is bigger, more athletic, has more experience and I believe is actually younger than Thompson, so telling me a raw undersized PF is better than an internationally recognized up and coming 7 foot prospect doesn't really make sense. 12 and 9 when you're force fed minutes isn't that big a deal, our own DMo and Tjones will put up similar production if we give them minutes esp. since Thompson didn't really convert at a decent percentage. Waiters has indeed shown flashes of brilliance but at the same time he was picked really high on a deep draft, other guys like Drummond and Barnes turn him into an afterthought. It's even more ridiculous because Waiters didn't worked out by anyone in the league, once the draft started his agent hid him away and just showed everyone grainy highschool highlight clips of how awesome he was. Barnes, especially was a head scratcher because nobody rated Waiters over Barnes....except of course, the Cavs.
If Bennett turns out to be like a Larry Johnson type player, he will be good. He needs to get in better shape, he's puffing heavily.
