Ticket prices were raised apparently, so that may have had something to do with it.

While preseason is preseason, one thing you have to admit is that the Rockets offense with starters is amazing. Pacers defense is among the best in the NBA. And even if you adjust for jetlag or whatever, it doesn't affect the defense as much. The Rockets are simply capable of scoring on anyone.

Brilliant Line Up Change by McHale

Let me just say that I am Taiwanese and I love that Mchale is starting Beverly over Lin.

All those fans that are crying that McHale is dumb, just stop. Morey interviewed McHale as due diligence on all available coaches and he said that Mchale blew him away with his bball knowledge. McHale TOOK the coaching job after impressing Morey after 8 hours of bball interrogation.

As for starting Beverly over lin, I think it’s a great move for one reason only: SYNERGY. Right now Lin is the better player, but his skillsets would mesh better with the bench unit. Beverly is limited on offense and cant facilitate the offense a fraction as good as Lin can…which is y it’s a great decision to play him with the starting unit. This allows harden to go to work with the ball in his hands (our best option), and limits Beverly to what he can do: feeding d12 in the paint and hitting open spot ups. His defense will also help close out games.

Lin on the other hand has a better offensive game, and works significantly better with the ball in his hands. Our bench is filled with players that are less independent on offense. Lin will do a fantastic job settting up the reserve offense and feeding players like Dmo to get them easier shots. Lin can also go to work driving to the basket against easier opponents and really show us what he can do as a floor general.

Please stop making this about who’s better (not relevant at all), or how racist/dumb mchale is. This could work out for everyone. Theres a reason popovich played Ginobili off the bench, and it wasn’t cuz he was the 2nd best shooting guard on the team….
