I just called Time Warner Cable - Austin and they said they show the game to be on at 6 pm on FSSW. I know we have all fallen for the TV listings before. But, usually Time Warner will show another program listed. This time they both agree. So lets hope this time it is true! ------------------
Hmmmm....OK... I'll take a skeptical stance and wait & see if this turns out to actually be the case. ------------------
Don't believe the lies! We've been through this before, so many times I can't count them all. If you want to see the game, get the League Pass or go out somewhere to see the game. FSSW can / will only show Spurs games here. ------------------
It might be because the Spurs are not playing tonight. How did they manage to get 4 days off between games? ------------------
Mark my words, the game will not be on. It is against NBA rules. ------------------ "He was under more balls than a midget hooker."-Bobby Hill visit www.swirve.com
I'm looking forward to some good motorcross action tonight. ------------------ "Oh No..." -Bill Walton in 97 just before Stockton's buzzer beater
Well, the game starts at 6PM CDT, which is now (actually about 4-5 minutes ago), FOXSW and Time Warner ain't showing it here in Austin. Just as I expected. "Football Today" is airing on FOXSW. I'll just catch the Rockets game on sportsterminal.com. ------------------
Ok...last time I believe it. The lady at Time Warner swore by it this time. Time Warner Cable sux! Austin sux! ------------------
FOR THE LAST TIME...Read it very VERY carefully: I recently e-mailed Fox Sports Net to ask them about the deal with the Rockets on TV...this is what they had to say: "I appreciate your comments and share your desire to have all 3 NBA teams shown in our entire viewing area which is Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Louisiana. We would love to be able to do just that. However, the NBA will not allow Rockets to be seen in your area (nor Mavericks) - just the Spurs. The Spurs cannot be seen in the Mavericks or the Rockets territories either. It is really too bad because I agree that it would definitely increase viewership. As far as the Spurs being on SW and TNT at the same time is because we do not hold exclusive rights to the games so other networks will from time to time, carry the same game that we are carrying. Thanks for your interest and I will pass your comments along. Maybe we will be able to someday change this rule. I live in College Station and it's pretty weird here. Cox Communications is the only cable provider and they give Rocks home games. However, the place I'm living at this year uses some messed up satellite system with Houston's UPN, Waco's WB, Bryan's FOX and a mixture on FSN. Some nights I get Rocks games, some nights the Mavericks, some nights the Spurs. I fix this problem by going to my friend's place who has cable for Rocks home games that don't come up on my TV.
Lets just hope San Antonio does not get a baseball team or I will never see the Astros on TV in Austin! ------------------
They don't show a lot of Astros anyway. During the early (and late) part of the season you'll get Dallas Stars games, or Spurs. May to August the Stros are on some, but they tend to favor Rangers games. ------------------ "Don't blame me. I think I voted for Gore." -Florida bumpersticker
Does Time Warner offer Digital Cable in Austin? If so, you could just get league pass and see every Rockets game. You could also see 39 other games from around the NBA a week.
I see nearly all of the Astros games on regular cable. ------------------ "He was under more balls than a midget hooker."-Bobby Hill visit www.swirve.com and, http://www.geocities.com/clutch34_2000 for great Rocket insight by some of your fellow BBS posters!
"Does Time Warner offer Digital Cable in Austin? If so, you could just get league pass and see every Rockets game. You could also see 39 other games from around the NBA a week." Yes I get it in Austin. My opinion is that League Pass is very worth it. I got it on Early Bird for 149. Thats basically constant bball from November to April. If you average it out its like 25 a month to see basically all the games, Rockets and others. I think its worth it. ------------------ Check out the Best Source for Draft Info Draftsource.net
Is that right? I dumped cable last year right before baseball season (had it for years before that). Maybe it just seemed to me like the Rangers games were on instead when the two conflicted. ------------------ "Don't blame me. I think I voted for Gore." -Florida bumpersticker
