Check this quote from David Alridge's column. Among other things, Derek Anderson said: "Mo Taylor was there for three years with the Clippers," he said. "Once I got there, he was so fed up, that once we started losing, it didn't even bother him. When it don't bother you to lose that much, something's wrong." If that's what Mo's teammates think...
I´m not either Mo´s advocate or his agent (that job already belongs to Cat )but you are taking Anderson´s word out of context. He was only talking about how Mo was already a victim of the same losing attitude that eventually got to him too. That´s why Poppovich had to de-clipperize him too. ------------------ "I have posted so much that what I say must be true"
Aldridge is responsible for the out-of-context business (as usual). Look, context or no, Anderson thinks losing in LA didn't bother Mo. Anderson thinks he minded losing more than Mo. Right? Maybe Anderson is mistaken, or maybe Anderson has a grudge against Mo. OK, maybe what Anderson meant by "When it don't bother you to lose that much, something's wrong." was that there something wrong with the organization, not Mo. I'll give you that. I still don't think its speaks favorably toward Mo at all.
Of course when Derek Anderson came to the franchise, he hated losing with all his heart. However, when he started to go through the same problems surrounding the team and its negative outlook on the future, it got to him just as it did to Mo. That "something" which is wrong is by no means a reflection on Mo's attitude, but rather on the Clippers. He probably used Mo as an example because he was the team's best player for that year. In a way, he's giving praise to Mo's attitude or at least putting him on the same level as he is. Didn't both fly the cage to find a better team and future? Anderson also says that Mo was fed up...with the franchise and its ways. Mo started to get used to losing because he was with such an atrocious franchise that was doing nothing to get better. Nothing to provide for their players or their prospects for following seasons. As Thanos already stated, when Anderson got to the Spurs Popovich had to extract the Clipper attitude from Anderson. The same had (or has?) to be done with Taylor. I just don't think the quote can provide any negative points on Taylor's character. Did Mo betray his team? No. The team didn't feel he was the franchise player anyway and Mo felt he had to go out and prove it (sure, the Clippers were right but that's of no consequence). Does Taylor have the attitude of the loser? No. He simply came to terms with that attitude, which belonged to the Clippers not him. ------------------ Nederland 2002 Rocketman95 on board.
