If they were open to such a deal they'd wait until after the game and not so soon before the game. He's right there. Not that it would be impossible or anything though.
I mean, if the Texans were comfortable enough to trade Schaub in the first place, then there is no reason why they wouldnt trade Schaub right before the Niners game...
Schaub has zero value on the trade market given his play regression and his contract. Nobody would take him unless they could sign him for low value as a free agent.
I don't think so - if you were interested in trading someone and had agreed to terms, the last thing either team would do is put those players at risk of injury by having them play another game for their old team. You see it all the time in baseball where a player is pulled from the lineup on the day of a potential trade even if it hasn't been announced yet. It would suck for the 49ers game, but I don't think there's an alternative option. You also don't want the player to suck really bad and have the other team have doubts, or be awesome and have doubts yourself. Once terms are set, you just have to do it and run with it.

I know we're in a city where Tmac was turned into Kevin Martin was turned into James Harden, but damn that would've been a move.
Trade Schaub before his value bottoms out? Before he throws another pick six and becomes a benched QB walking? Bob McNair is too laid back for anything like that. That's something Daryl Morey would do, and that's just not how Uncle Bob rolls.
