I couldn't agree with you more !! In no way is Yao ready to be the #1 go to guy, like you said, 2 or three years from now.And I like your point about the motion offense!! Yao is and never will be an Olajuwon but he will be a great player, but let him learn English first, don't you agree. If people could put themselves in his situation and just pack up and move to America and play the best at 22 yrs old, I think they'd understand. We picked him #1 and he is going to be the ROY... What more can you ask for in 1yr from the guy ...:)

Yep. They are guilty of one of the biggest mental mistakes of competition.

    "They are afraid to fail."

Or, another way to say it, "They are playing not to lose, rather than playing to win."

Feel sorry the way our team is caving up. Even free throws we are down in 30+%. How can this be.

    The Problem is Smith

I bet my hat that Coach "Mean" is probably the one spreading TOO much urgency over the Rox... to the point where the Rox players are overthinking their need to win, and thusly, playing poorly b/c they're playing "desperate". From what I've read, Smith stands in sharp contrast to RudyT in terms of coaching style. I wouldn't be surprised if Smith's heavy handed approach, especially glaring as this season winds down, is the cause for the broken morale among the Rox.

I don't see any other explanation other than "psychological".

The Rox are NOT this bad shooting a team. Something has gotten into their brains, perversely so, to be affecting them as badly as this has.

    Solution: We need RudyT ASAP.

Congrats to the Suns. We handed it to them but they deserve it. Amare for ROY. The Kidd/Marbury trade looks better in year 2. Rockets have much work to do in the offseason. New Orleans only deepens the pool. Change is in order.

This team just has no heart at all. They don't deserve the playoffs based on that alone. Everything, the whole season on the line, and they play like this?!?!?

How can they possible play WORSE as the season goes on? The first third of the season they were playing decently. But hey, we all figured they'd start jelling and get better and more consistent as the year went on. Instead they got much worse and the same old excuses kept spewing out of their mouths.

They have no heart, they play with no brains at all, they don't remember any lessons from previous mistakes, they have no discipline(if any is ever instilled by the coaches), despite their youth they can't seem to outrun and outhustle their opponents consistently, and their offense just flat out sucks! Other than that, I love these guys.

Seriously, this season is a complete and colossal waste except for whatever experience Yao managed to get out of it. There was no progress but rather regress to the point of utter chaos. Some heads have to roll this offseason. Either management/coaches didn't lay down the law or didn't insist on the players following strategy. Or worse yet, maybe they didn't provide a correct strategy for the players. Somebody has to go....either the players who refuse to fall in line or management that failed to provide leadership.

I challenge anyone here to try provide some shred of proof as to how this season was anything other than a giant leap backwards in team progression. Pitiful, truly pitiful.

I guess Mean has given up on this game (and possibly the season) putting Hawk and Mooch together in the same backcourt. Mark Jackson is playing with them now.

I'm out -- too painful to watch. It's been an up and down season to say the least, but I guess to put a positive spin on things, the Rockets record is better than it was last year so I guess they've improved?

Let's hope changes/trades are made and we don't have to suffer like we (fans) did this year in flirting with the playoffs but not really being serious about wanting to get there.

Amare will not be the ROY and he doesn't desrve it. He only scored 2-points last night and hasn't been playing well down the stretch. If we can at least get something out of the season lets at least give Yao what he deserves and the Suns the playoffs which they earned and deserve as well. I hate Marbury but he has just been playing great, My hat goes off to them...

    The HELL is collapsing...

How the HELL can any NBA team shoots under 30% for TWO consecutive games??? I am wondering if Rockets can make playoff even they play Denver rest of the way!!!

AND why no Fancis, Yao and Mobley on court now with still 9 minutes left? Already give up? I can understand the frustration, but that definitely hurt their confidence.

Yao-only fans always preferred Yao winning ROY over Rockets making the playoffs.

Individual awards means nothing to losers. Ming ROY? So friggin what! Ming and Francis all-stars? Very hard to tell. So friggin what!

Let Amare have it. He helped his team reach a plateau that our team is still lunging for.
