The whole team cannot put the ball into the ocean. EG 0/5, Yao 1/5, Franchise 1/7; you can go on and on...

    :(

Good god, how hard is it to defend a simple pick? There's no roll, Stockton just ran off a pick and everyone just watched! It's ridiculous. The Rocket's defense is terrible as well as the offense.

The Rockets have scored a total of 53 FREAKING POINTS over the last 4 quarters. If this doesn't sum up this team's desperate need for some semblance of an offensive system, I don't know what will. Please Les, hire a real coach next year!!!

from the game, seems LS put too much energy on defense, which could change our offense. why not make the players feel confortable on the field?
basketball game should be fun, not painful.

Man,it sure sucks to see all the Yao bashers!! Everyone was praising him all season up until now.He has played 48 months straight, thats 4yrs, hes tired and he's a rookie. Its very easy to see, none of the Roxs are playing well, including Stevie.Stop blaming one person when the whole team has just seem to given up!! The Roxs just don't have the chemistry to make the playoffs and they are just too inconsistent.Changes are needed in the off-season and hopefully they will get done !!

Baskeball on this level is about winning period. Defense win games, we just don't do it well enough.

I hope Eddie hasn't talked to Yao about his shot. Seriously. I mean, when Yao used to miss shots, it still looked really nice coming out of his hands. Now his shot doesn't have the same arc it seems.

spare us. winning is fun. whether by defensive intensity or fluid offense. we have neither.

I, for one, am not bashing Yao, I'm just commenting that he's been playing terrible basketball with a few exceptions for about 3 weeks now. He's playing with no energy and missing shots he normally makes. He's also very stagnant on defense, just kind of putzing about near the lane, and then not even helping out on penetration.

Don't you find that statement to be alittle self conflicting? We need time and a stable system to win. I would even venture to say that we would've won more games if we went with the iso system we had earlier in the year the whole year. Not because its effective but because players are comfortable with it and we were winning with it. With emergence of Yao we became a lot more center oriented, it started off badly as people were uncomfortable, but we can see before Rudy went out how much better we played. The Larry came in and all hell broke loose. We need time to jell and a system everyone can agree on.

Iagree with you on this, I just think he is tired. He has played well all season and at the wrong time he is not playing so well. He had a similiar couple of games in the middle of the season then bounced back. He had some good games just last week on the East road trip, so maybe he can bounce back, but hopefully it won't be too late :)

yao doesn't look sharp tonight like the jazz commentators said maybe that 44 plus straight months of basketball have finally got him this time.

Why should Yao pass out of the post if he is not doubled? if all the cutters are defended, and no shooters are open, why should he pass? It's his job to score when single covered. unfortunately he's just not hitting tonight.

let me interject a little bit of intelligence past the montel williams style of exageration. Yao is not playing poorly, the rox offense strategy is flawed. As we have seen in the past, Yao is a flow sort of player. It takes him a couple of good looks to get into the flow. With the haphazard offensive set we are seeing, he is only getting one to maybe two all half, and they are not back to back.
If they put half of the energy into getting Yao the ball in the paint as they do with Mo, our offense would be clicking much better than it is.

what the rockets really need is leadership.. unfortunetly, being one of the youngest teams in the league, there isn't much leadership on the floor... and with a coach who can't coach... it's hard for the team to win.. especially when the pressure is on...

maybe this is for the best... one step back.. a bunch of steps forward next season...

I hope the Rox turn it around like they did in PHI!
