It was a joke. I actually think Lin will have a breakout season. Did you see how smooooooooooooooth he shot is now??
Can anyone explain to me why we would need a 4th PG on the roster when our 2nd PG is so good that he is pushing our starting PG for minutes?
and eventually our 3rd one will push everyone out of the way. talking about PGs...jameer nelson is one the market...lin for nelson straight up anyone?
I think a trade was in the works earlier in the offseason and one of the PG's was involved. Trade fell thru so here we are.
I would cut Henriquez, Brooks and Camby. If they think Canaan can play, then I see no reason to keep Brooks. I know the rockets will probably want to keep Camby, but I'm afraid he's done. He hasn't been healthy in a long time. If the Rockets keep Camby then I guess it comes down to Covington, Brewer, or Williams.
You forgot Brewer. Henriquez is a given. Williams probably cut in preseason. Camby is a possibility if he's injured worse than we thought. If Camby stays however, I see Smith getting traded for a conditional 2nd.
I really want to see how Covington, casspi, Williams, brewer play during preseason. If I had to go with 3 players I would say Henrequiz, brooks & maybe camby since he is still not healthy and won't participate during the camp. Just not sure if they want to cut a player that plays well preseason for someone who may not be healthy and is not even a good trade piece. But at the same time if they move a player like asik or smith than they are going to keep him around if we don't come up on another big man
Disagree with the folks saying Brooks will be cut. He was excellent insurance for a Jeremy Lin injury playing backup to Beverly. Plus, he's getting guaranteed salary this year, so they Rockets would still have to pay him upwards of $1 million dollars in salary if he was cut. Unfortunately, I think the tough cut is going to be Greg Smith. We have too many guys that will rotate between the 3, 4, and 5 that will be kept due to their contracts -- Jones, Motiejunas, Casspi, Covington, Asik, Howard, Camby. Greg Smith is the odd man out because his contract is small and non-guaranteed. Plus he's had time to show what he can do. Hopefully we'll net a future pick for him, and I hope all the best for him in the future.
My favorite kind of Lin fan. One who would rather see his boy put up empty stats on a going no where team over having him play a smaller role on a contender. Just the best.
I don't see why we would cut Brooks. If Lin is going to be traded you will need Brooks for the playoffs. My guess is Henriquez, Brewer and Williams
Btw Henriquez is due zero money, Brewer has 100k guaranteed and Williams has around 400k. That is the least out of everyone on the team.
