I have done neither, but have followed them and the whole "sharing economy" as an interested observer. As an aside, Airbnb will be the 500 pound gorilla in this space. It's a $10+ billion company already. But then, it's sharing a personal non-monetized asset, as opposed to TaskRabbit, which I think is more of sharing your personal services, which doesn't monetize as large, and takes time for the producers (the people or companies performing the tasks). I think a number of the TaskRabbit clones have had issues. There is one called Exec, which I believe started out as a broader platform and is now basically sourcing cleaning services online (ie maids). TaskRabbit will probably be one of the ones in the space that makes it. I feel like it originally started out with more "do some personal errand for you" type stuff... ala the grocery shopping, whereas now it also has the handyman sourcing, the maid cleaning, and a TaskRabbit for Business. Probably a better play. Sorry, I'm just not interested in spending a bunch (relatively) of money to get some random person or business to deliver my groceries. But if I need a handyman, I need a handyman, and any platform that sources me a price competitive, reputable provider in that case might be useful.
From what I understand it has a rating system so it's sort of like eBay for personal services or something. Curious if its very popular in Houston, I see that they operate here.
Looks like they're moving out of the personal space and more into enterprise. http://techcrunch.com/2013/07/08/ta...t-realigns-to-focus-on-mobile-and-enterprise/
