This is why an ultimate goal of mine in life is to retire early.

I've only read 3-4 of his books but I enjoyed them all and the games too.
Didn't say how he died though.

That's sad. Tom Clancy was a very good author, writing books that few authors know how to do. He was like the Stephen King of Military/Political thrillers.

Video games inspired by Clancy: Rainbow Six, Splinter Cell, Ghost Recon.

Movies: Sum of All Fears, Patriot Games, Clear and Present Danger, Catch a Fire, and Jack Ryan.

Pretty sure he inspired TV shows like JAG, NCIS, and The Unit.

Great author. I still think Red Storm Rising was his best book.

    I read:

    The Hunt for Red October
    Red Storm Rising
    The Cardinal of the Kremlin
    Patriot Games
Debt of Honor (chilling ending very similar to 9/11)
    Executive Orders
    Clear and Present Danger

    Very sad day. :)

The first one I read was Without Remorse. What a thriller. Read that and see what all the hype is about.
