Joe Johnson of Phoenix, Richard Jefferson and Jason Collins of NJ, Najera of Dallas, Rashard Lewis of Seattle, etc.

These are few of the players that the Rockets either passed up in the draft or even traded but now are making considerable contributions with their respective teams.

If these players are with the rox instead of unknown players like Hawkins, Maddox, and Norris, aren'tl they be better off?

What do you think guys? Just asking for your views on this WHAT IF question?

    AAAAAAAAHhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

I hate seeing these things, people whine and complain about all the little things that went wrong Years and years ago... (Okay, I know that the the Eddie trade happened last year.)

Why should we feel so bad about these things? There are at least 12 other teams that passed up on Jefferson, and like 20 teams that passed up on Jason.

Don't forget, we weren't the only team to pass up on these players.

We did not pass on Joe Johnson. He went before our pick and we traded for Eddie after N.J. made the pick. It was not pre-arranged.

The other thing about this sort of thing is that people b**** and whine about players we COULD have, but no one ever says anything positive about the players we really do have.

Steve -- should've been the first pick in that draft, and has established himself as easily worth twice what we gave up for him.

Cuttino -- was passed on by every team in the NBA, and some passed him twice. If that draft were held again, he'd be late in the first 10 picks.

Yao Ming -- Rockets did well and picked the right guy.

Juaquin Hawkins -- Great find. Not a great player, but he is the exact sort of player you want on a team. Great defender who puts forth 110%.

I could keep going. Let's not be so quick to criticize the Rockets for not getting certain players without praising them for getting other players.

First of all, I am not criticizing the current players of the rockets. I'm just asking what if?

Second of all, we can say as much positives as we want on each player thay have right now. But if they are not winning collectively, what is the use?

They may have great players but if they do not have good chemistry, AS IT IS NOW, then it is useless.

The reason people have responded so harshly is that we have already seen this tread at least a dozen times, and after awhile it gets old.

To answer your question of "What If," if we had picked up the players that we should have, then we would be a totaly different team. Most likely we wouldn't see Yao, Posey, or even Francis.

Yeah Jefferson, Johnson, and Lewis are fine players, but they aren't all-stars or even close the potential that Yao and Steve have of becoming super stars.

If you ask me, I'd rather have Yao, Steve, and Griffin than anyone else that came out of last years draft.

Part of the reason why members of the board are getting mad about posts like thses is that there have been about three of four others like this one in the past couple of days.

Clutch put out a post saying to look and think before posting. Meaning that if you see a thread that covers the topic you want to discuss, then post under that thread instead of starting a new one.

The BBS is here for a reason, so you can post your thoughts and opinions. Sometimes other people disagree with that and will post why and how they disagree. If you don't like the feedback you're getting then don't post, its as simple as that.

You asked for people who care to respond, well many of the BBS users like myself do and thats why they respond. However, if you're going to tell them your opinion and ask for negative feedback then whats the point of posting it in the first place. Every thread is open to a little honest criticism. However, some posters do take it a little far sometimes.

You all have an excellent bunch of players! You all should have definitely made the playoffs.

The Rockets lack leadership and teamwork and the wrong philosophy whether it be the Coach or Francis...

    Inside Out to be successful.

Hey, don't forget the diamonds in the rough. Like Matt Bullard. And Scotty "The Energizer Bunny" Brooks. And Chucky Brown. And Charles "The Legend" Jones. And Anthony "Pig" Miller.

I can't believe other teams wouldn't want this rag-tag bunch!
